This match is actually shorter than I expected, but seeing Mashiba conquering his fears, definitely a powerful moment for him.
@JulianMMVs4 жыл бұрын
The match was shorter that it could've been because of Mashiba's growth. I like the character development George Morikawa gives to him, see him surpass his weaknesses like that gives you the hope he can take on the world.

Sawamura is more talented and skillful than mashiba when they fought and sawamura gave ippo beating if sawamura didn't played around and end it early ippo would surely lose but since he's retired boxer now, mashiba is completely another level of boxer now

@bluxeedits353311 ай бұрын
Why won't he just change division?
@rubenl176911 ай бұрын
It’s due to two factors. 1. He stays at junior lightweight because aoki is at lightweight as such kimura doesn’t want to interfere in his friend’s division. 2. He says that even if he did move up he wouldn’t be able to take the punishment of the division compared to junior lightweight
@YoppppolАй бұрын
@@rubenl1769well kimura also said that he's a little coward that he wants an advantage fighting smaller boxer than him that's why he's staying on his division even though he's having a hard time to handle his weight this also why takamura is little angry at kimura because he's having such a hard time always in weight in

@احمدباسمعاتي4 жыл бұрын
Real but not in the same speed
@Sam-ep2yo4 жыл бұрын
Morikawa has styled up that jab for dramatic effect, but the flicker jab is real, as is the Detroit style (Or 'Hitman' if you're a Thomas Hearns fan). My guess as to why he made it look so impossibly long-reaching and fast is because that's what it _feels_ like when you're on the receiving end - which, during his career, he probably was.
@samwinger61553 жыл бұрын
@@Sam-ep2yo I'm pretty sure there's a difference between hitman and detroit style.
@fredmedrano65843 жыл бұрын
I used them for a long time and while it has a longer reach than a normal jab it's only a few inches but thats enough to mess up the opponent distance management especially if you mix them with normal jabs and step-in jabs, also while they don't come from every direction they can go through unorthodox angles but only if you have a strong shoulder and a flexible elbow, at some point if your arm becomes strong+flexible+fast enough you can start turning your jabs into hooks and uppercuts like Alfredo did
@mr.nugget12173 жыл бұрын
@@samwinger6155 i think the difference is simply who uses it, the hitman id like only for Thomas and the detroit is the normal style, but there's also the Philadelphia style which is more defensive than the detroit

I have to say it. Iga dissapoited me in this fight. I mean, it is true that before this fight he had never fought against an "important" boxer, but, come on, he just destroyed one exchampion in Japan in one round. Moreover, he was the current Japanese champion in his weight category, and he was undefeated before fighting against Mashiba. I didn't expeted Iga winning, however, please, Iga didn't connected any punch to Mashiba, only faults, and, speaking about faults, in this area Mashiba had one handicap, and that handicap is that Mashiba wasn't able to make any faults (because of his fight against Sawamura) because if Mashiba commited any fault again he would be expulsed and he would never box again. Thus, Mashiba and Iga weren't in the same conditions. Maron, with Iga as a boxer, tried to create a mix between Ippo, Kimura and Sawamura because these guys are those who put Mashiba in his hardest moments during his career. However, although it could be true that Kimura has little more than the dragon fish blow, Ippo is more than the peek-a-boo style, and Sawamura was more than just faults. Furthermore: What happen with Miyata? For Mashiba, his fight against Miyata was a hard fight too. If Maron's plan was to show to Mashiba their "fears", then: Why dind't he show to Iga how to do a counter? To sum up, altought the fight was entertaining, I expected much more.
@bubsbuben9144 жыл бұрын
Tbh I think it was suppose to be the base layer, Maron isn't an amazing trainer and I think this was suppose to show that as well
