Very rare to stop someone with thigh kicks, it doesn't impede movement as much as the calf, the thigh muscle is large and can absorb the damage, the day after will be hell tho because he sustained a lot more damage overall than if he was being calf kicked and he'd have to worry about blood clotting etc... The calf would have stopped the fight, calf muscle can't physically disperse the swelling and will simply shut down the muscle making the foot limp

I agree with your comments about MMA and the use of takedowns elevating it to a higher level, but I also think that it's mostly because the rules favour it. Things like a double leg takedown would be a lot less common if fighters had to worry about elbows or punches to the back of the head. I sure as shit wouldn't try it if my opponent could strike at the back of my head. I'm not saying it wouldn't be effective, just much more risky and less common.

I'm with you one most of the things, especially the elbow he did not throw 😂 But the teep thing with Rodtang is not right in my opinion, because in Kickboxing you are not allowed to catch a kick. So this was not an option for Takeru. In the end I think Superlek is far above Takeru, because that is not even his whole arsenal, while Takeru does everything he can. Imagine what that in Muay Thai would have looked like...as you said. Good breakdown sir 👏🏼🙏🏼

This is the difference between kickboxing and Muay Thai. Very different styles. Kickboxing is bouncy footwork and trying to unload combo's with your fists with an occasional kick. Muay Thai is all about the roundhouse kick, pushkicks and clinching. The stance is also very different with all the weight on the last leg. Now it's the legkicks that do it, but quite often it's middlekicks to the forearms that do the job.
