Hey guys! When I said there'd be a whole slew of AA videos, I meant it :D. In this video, I fly aboard an American Airlines (ex-US Airways) A321 over to Charlotte, North Carolina from Nashville, Tennessee! I thought the flight was OK...nothing special...and if these were normal times then it would've been fine for how quick the flight was. But obviously it's 2020. I've routinely put American near the bottom of my safety list in past videos because I thought they did more than Spirit or Allegiant did, but this flight changed that opinion at least for now. The plane was noticeably dirty around the seats and in the lavatories...and I wasn't the only one who noticed this as well. American also hasn't changed their boarding process, they didn't hand out sanitizing wipes on this flight, it was a very full flight as no seats are blocked, they aren't even handing out snacks/drinks in plastic bags taking advantage of the situation, and on top of all these things I arrive to a jam-packed airport in CLT. If you want to feel safe flying during COVID-19, don't fly American unless you have to. The plane itself wasn't much better as it had AA's older hard product which doesn't have any power outlets, touchscreens, USB ports, etc. The crew was OK and the flight did depart/arrive on time, but in general, not the best flight aboard American Airlines, just mediocre. Hope you guys enjoy!

The best part about Charlotte Airport is the Aviation Museum. They have the actual airplane that Sully Sullenberger crash landed into the Hudson River. Pretty awesome!!

Howdy, awesome trip report as always Mr.Jazz! It sucks that you had a bad experience! Two bits of insight, they probably scheduled the plane to do the weird route before the flight, and the times reflected of that! Also, it looked like the first seat you picked to move to was an MCE seat, and since you didn’t get upgraded, the flight attendant would have been reprimanded by AA if he let you be! I have flown through CLT, and it’s probably my favorite hub, though DTW and the new gates at LGA are nice too!😸😻😸

CLT is a decent airport. Flew in and out a lot back when it was USAir main hub to switch for Myrtle beach. Now I go direct. If you like Carowinds, I am home to the oldest amusement park in usa, and the many times #1 in the world , wooden coaster, Boulder Dash. Love all your videos and am working my way through them all

Have you considered visiting an amusement park? I am also curious how many times you had a connecting flight to Charlotte. I had an American Airlines connection in Charlotte after a red-eye flight from Phoenix-Sky Harbor. It was actually a tiring but fun experience. After that, I flew to Nashville (my final destination) and took a road trip to Southern Indiana to visit Holiday World & Splashin' Safari. After a couple days, I took a road trip down to the Smoky Mountains to visit Dollywood. It was an adventurous experience. As you can see, I often fly across the USA to visit amusement parks. My family and I have strong enthusiasm for amusement parks, and my sister is a roller coaster geek. As far as Carowinds is concerned, I have never visited Carowinds, but my sister has. I am hoping to visit one of these days.

Charlotte is like a miniature version of ATL that said, I have to say that I’ve had a better experience connecting at ATL because of the Plane Train , which Charlotte doesn’t have and that makes the transfer experience a little less pleasant because one has to walk between concourses

Another awesome jazzguy. It’s nice to see my home airport of BNA featured on your channel. One question, anything you noticed in particular regarding small children at the airport with mask requirements and on the flight?. I am traveling very soon with United and I’m curious as to how airports and airplanes are handling masks for two-year-old children. Thanks!

I live outside of CLT so I use this airport to go anywhere. I have, twice in my life, connected thru CLT going somewhere (one time was to fly from GSO back to CLT to fly to ORD for cheap, another time I was going from LGA to CLT with my basketball team, but then was heading to be with family in MKE so I connected to ATL and then MKE). I personally like CLT, even for as large as it is, it's not terribly difficult to get from one end to the other (although I haven't gone from the end of E to the new A, yet). I never knew you could go to that upper mezzanine in the main atrium until I saw it in another one of your videos. Definitely going to check it out next time I fly.

franrc265 I haven’t seen it on our ramp here yet personally, but the supervisors are on us right now like white on rice looking for everything and anything they can to write folks up in this time of downsizing. Phones on the ramp are a big offender, so I’m sure if a sup saw it, they’d stop the push themselves. I’d be afraid of risking not only my job but the lives of the passengers on board the plane(s)

Yes,exactly. If you are trapped in an aluminum tube 35000 feet in the air for 4 hours do you really think blocking one or two seats is going to make any difference at all? Seriously? This is the same thing in the 70s when there were smoking and non smoking seats. Tell the smoke to stay on one side of the plane! I have flown 3 times since this whole thing started and I am flying out on Monday morning. You just have to use common sense. Be careful and be courteous.
