:) They were clipping along despite the low altitude. Probably something to do with turbulence.
@ultrametric93173 жыл бұрын
@Zig_Zaagin OK dude, I forgot for a minute I was on YT with all the real jet cowboys! How dumb of me to assume the pilots know at what speed to deploy the flaps and put down the landing gear!
@ultrametric93173 жыл бұрын
@Zig_Zaagin Oh, okay. But actually I was trying to think of why they would be flying so fast and low. One reason might be to get into the boundary layer because it was less turbulent under conditions.To be nice to the passengers.

There is a IFE screen, it's just built into the armrest. Once airborne, you can remove it, and it's held in front of you by a metal arm. No worries, you don't have to trade entertainment for legroom.

Great video! Did you have to temporary stop filming the flight video during the height of COVID-19 pandemic when almost all flight was cancelled? How long did you stop filming?
@sla313 жыл бұрын
I didn't fly from March 2020 through June 2020. So, there were 3-4 months where I was not flying. That was, of course, in part to Covid, but it also happened to coincide with my wife and I's first child being born. Our daughter was born on April 6, 2020, so even before Covid really "took off" in the US. I had already planned to not fly during April, May, and June of 2020, as we were going to have a newborn in the house, and I knew I'd be needed at home. Kind of a crazy coincidence. So, since I had already been planning to not fly for three months when Covid hit it's peak, I was able to continue uploading daily during that whole three months, as I flew enough in January and February to make sure I could cover three months of no flying. In the end, I didn't fly for nearly 4 months, but I never missed an upload.

Do you have any REALLY full flight videos where I can hear ALL of the announcements in full (boarding, welcome, safety, FO or captain announcements, doors to manual, etc etc)? I'm collecting this announcements for my private use in a flight simulator, and it's quite hard to find a complete set of these, from the same flight. Thank you in advance!
@sla312 жыл бұрын
Well, I mean all of my full flights have been the full flights now for years. The problem with what you're asking is that most flight crews end up doing their passenger briefing before the door closes, while you're still sitting at the gate. And I don't film until the door of the aircraft is closed. I don't typically get the pilots giving their pre-flight announcements. And I definitely don't know off the top of my head which videos might have it. Your guess is as good as mine of that one my friend. Sorry.
@Pe11ePD2 жыл бұрын
@@sla31 No worries. I assumed it's hard to get all announcements due to above reasons. Thank you for answering. Cheers

how is your video quality so amazing? please tell me how you do it? what settings? etc... I would love to start making better quality videos for my channel. How do you keep the camera so steady? please help!
@sla313 жыл бұрын
I use iPhone 12 Pros. I record at 2160p 60fps, and only use the built in stabilizing that comes standard on all iPhones. So, pretty simple really.

@@sla31 so you hold your phone for 6-12hours on those full flight videos? When do u sleep or eat? Lol please explain how you do it so I can do better! I am a Flight Attendant and want to start posting better content.
@sla313 жыл бұрын
@@JakeTravelz Yes that is correct. To make sure I follow all FAA and airline rules, I use a small "handheld" camera that weighs less than 2 lbs. I also hold the camera by hand to compl with the "small handheld electric devices may continue to be used, as long as they are held in your hand or secured in a seatback pocket" rule. Honestly, I often give up the luxury of sleeping or eating on flights to make sure I get the best videos possible. I also wear a long sleeve black shirt and black gloves to avoid my arm reflecting in the window.

Nice video SP!! Hey, I've never been on the A321 when the yellow pump was running, so I'm wondering if it is annoying and loud in real life or just loud in the videos?
@sla313 жыл бұрын
It is loud all the time. But, it’s only when only one engine is running. What you’re hearing is the power transfer unit that helps control power to the various hydraulic systems, while only one engine is running. Aircraft are required to have multiple hydraulic systems as back ups, in case there is a failure in one. The power transfer unit is what takes the separate individual systems and links them together in situations like that. When only one engine is running it’s used to control all the hydraulic systems at once. That all said, it’s notoriously loud on all A320 series aircraft

I'm guessing you overnighted here in preparation for the Hawaiian A330 journey the next morning? How did you get to ATL from JLN?

That is correct. I actually flew out of MCI for this trip. In reality, I really haven’t flown out of JLN much in the last year or so. It gets kind of boring for you guys if I take the same JLN-DFW or JLN-IAH every week.

I travel with two 512 GB iPhones. Currently an iPhone 12 Pro, which is my primary, and an iPhone 11 Pro, which is now my back up. I also travel with my 2016 15" MacBook Pro that has a 1 TB solid state drive in addition to another portable 2 TB rugged conventional hard drive. So, in a pinch, I can offload from the phones to the larger drives if I need to free up space.

Great video...What do you use to stabilize your iPhone?
@sla313 жыл бұрын
On this flight, my right arm and hand, since I was on the right side of the aircraft. I typically do not use any type of mount, and I don’t use any other type of stabilizer other than what is auto built-in on the iPhone.
@ClearSkyProductions7773 жыл бұрын
@@sla31 so what you’re saying is you film all of these by hand, holding up your arm for hours? If so that’s impressive.
@sla313 жыл бұрын
That is correct. On rare occasions I have used a mount. For example, my Charlotte to Honolulu flight was shot using a mount. Typically I do not use one though, because iPhones aren’t really designed as action cameras. So, they don’t typically do very well when there’s a lot of vibrations present. Which there are a lot of on airplanes. If I’m far enough ahead of the engines, the vibrations are much less, and sometimes a mount will work. But 98% of the time, I hold the camera by hand.
