The amazing thing that Nashville and Pittsburgh have in common is that TJG13 loves both cities.

Howdy, excellent trip report as per usual Chris, SWA seems to almost always impress. I’m also glad you had a better experience flying SWA out of BNA than you did last time on that flight to STL! Also, I could be wrong, but I believe that’s the music you used on the JetBlue flight from PIT to BOS on the E190!😸😸

in terms of your runway question you answered it. An experienced captain who knows where their gate is in relation to the runways will request a clearance to land on that runway if conditions allow. The last few years my father was with Eagle at RDU the gates in the old terminal C were on the south end (where the D gates are now) at the threshold to 5L. Therefore on late flights or when traffic was light even id RDU was using the 5s he would request clearance to 23R as he could roll all the way down, exit the runway and be at the gate.

Dude great job! your editing on these is on point! really enjoyed seeing PIT being my hometown airport, I'm curious how the new terminal implementation will go, though theres definitely aesthetic things I will miss about the current landslide terminal and people mover tram lol also the tunnel time-lapse was fun, going through and seeing the city on the other side is one fo my favorite Pittsburgh things.

I agree with you that night flights with few passengers are peaceful, most of the time, but the downside is that airlines don't make any money on those flights. A flight really has to be full these days especially with fuel prices on the increase. Thanks, another great vlog!

You said you're flying Southwest Airlines to Pittsburgh?
@PGHammer21A3 жыл бұрын
Before Southwest, US Air (an older hub+spoke airline based at Reagan National - literally) had a hub @ Pittsburgh. (While I flew out of Reagan National, it was typically to Charlotte (the southern hub) not Pittsburgh (the northern hub); the exception turned out to be the last time I flew on the airline - from Dallas-Fort Worth back to Reagan National - it was to - surprise - Pittsburgh! I have not flown through Pittsburgh since - though I HAVE been to the Steel City since; it was by BUS - not plane. Southwest has fully displaced US Airways at Reagan National, Charlotte, NC, and Pittsburgh.

Nashville’s population is exploding and the airport is already spending billions in expansion. A Hilton hotel, more parking, expanding the concourses, even a future train station. The middle section will have more restaurants and a main checkpoint.

Welp,at least now I have a rough explanation for that phrase in your arrival at BNA, "That Carpet" I'm assuming you spent some time in Nashville,what with you bringing your violin--you had a LONG day beforehand--BWI-MSP-ORD-via CTA-MDW-BNA and now home! In terms of catering,would be interesting to do a 'Then vs Now' on SWA regarding their expanded drink service--had I been traveling to PIT at virtually midnight,I'd want some coffee at least! Looking at your a/c's routing for the day,starting at LAX,proceeding east--imagine a cabin crew member doing the ENTIRE one way route,how exhausting that would be! No doubt company regs probably don't allow for that. As for the new BNA terminal,wouldn't be surprised if SWA paid for the construction costs,as they did for the new int'l terminal at HOU.

On July 24th I booked a flight from Savannah/Hilton Head to Chicago Midway to Omaha on Southwest Airlines, I could have chosen to stay on the plane in Chicago but opted for the 2 hour 45 minute layover because that was the cheaper option hopefully more things are open at MDW by then, and the takeoff from MDW is very unique especially heading west takeoff, climb, level off, climb, level off, climb due to Chicago O'Hare traffic!!!

Omaha Eppley Airfield was supposed to start renovations this year but those plans are now on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic and the plan was to make two terminal become one terminal with no separate security checkpoints, right now both airside terminals look like you are in the 1980s and have separate security checkpoints except for the restrooms and some jet bridges which makes it look like the 2010s as well as the new parking garage (2020s), the landside area looks 1980s with airlines updating check in and at least the baggage claim is a lot nicer now no buzzer and have automated system for baggage claim!!!
