Russia has been focused on BK for months and still hasn’t taken the city. Giving Ukraine time to rec new equipment and get back troops trained overseas The Russian arty is still going but the pace has slowed significantly then before as their supply depots had to be pushed back.

RA had been employing mobile electronic jamming beacons across the spearheads, rendering minute to minute Intel to only ground and satellite reports which can be delayed. RA has clear orders already, without the need to constantly be monitored by HQ or enemy forces. Russian Army is starting to show it's true skill now that UA munitions are nearly exhausted. 🇷🇺💪

The Russians are forcing the UAF to use it's artillery and thus give away their positions. Then spotter drones see them, and Lancer drones swoop in or counter battery fire hits it. They are doing this all along the lines. It also makes it hard for the UAF to be everywhere at once.

It's already an all-out offensive, just not the type people got used to seeing. This is a different war with different objectives. As long as the Ukrainian military is present to die, then Russia doesn't need to rush. They aren't particularly worried about territory. Russias goal is to kill as many Ukrainians as possible and destroy their units. Territory will come easy when there is no Ukrainian military. Russia has learned from its mistakes. It's using different tactics. Russian industry is fully mobilized, and the reserves are starting to be in place. It's going to be real bad for Ukraine real soon. No tanks will change this.

is the Hilly contours along the East Banks of the Dnipro a good place to launch an attack? The Kyiv Artillery could set up on the West Banks and chew up Russian advances as they head for Zaporizhzhia. The idea that Russian Commanders desire to divide the reserves of Kyiv up a bit more than they already have, seems to be some of the thinking? The Swampy bottom in the area of Kam'yans'ke, needs the bridge to cross into the area, without Russian Troops being forced to cross the Valley bottom as they approach the high ground on the North Side of town. It appears to be another distraction to allow Kyiv to burn fuel moving troops? Not some Actual Offensive? But I am no expert......

Willy OAM (pro-UKR Aussie blogger) had an extremely revealing interview yesterday (Jan 26) with an Aussie adviser around Bakhmut. Among many other things "Soldier x" said Wagner used (WW I-type) infiltration tactics in their assaults, that while they did use conscripts---which they called "fresh meat"---in the first wave they still inflicted more casualties on the Ukrainians than they suffered with successive waves, that they were very well equipped, trained, and led, and that each soldier was wired in and given precise instructions as to his particular role in the assault. (This reinforces what pro-Ukr blogger War in Ukraine described in an upload about Wagner a month or so ago.) Furthermore Soldier x said Ukrainian morale was at low ebb, many felt abandoned by their leadership, their casualties have been severe and that if they fell back now they might simply keep falling back indefinitely. He said this may explain why Ukraine's rubber-stamp legislature just passed a law allowing penal battalions, execution of deserters, and stiff jail terms (or front-line duty) for anyone criticizing superior officers. Corruption and incompetence are rife (as he says of Russian troops---EXCLUDING Wagner) and says he feels helpless to change the situation (as WiU has also been saying for months). Russia is saving the RA main forces to hold the cities after the Dpr Lpr and Wagner finish the blitz on the city/area. Chechen forces are useless cowards....Kadurov is having problems following orders from Russian HQ. He values his TikTok army more than victory, he is a weak link.

Those guys are way more expendable than regular forces, the political fall out is non existent with them. The reality is none of us knows what the massive amount of regular troops russia has in training in the rear areas are gonna be used for. They have around 300,000 troops in total hanging around in belarus, southern ukraine and on the russian border that we're all waiting to see what they do.

Actually i disagree. Zapaorzhia region is bunch of flatlands were russians have huge advantage. Also ukrainian forces are thin there so pushing this units will force ukrainans to pull more forces to the region and on top of that the can start to take territory from south to prevent counter attacks. Pushing and widening the area will be making counter offensive harder for ukraine. I think russians will start to grind forces like they do in donbass same way in south and then attack from belgorod and belarus but not a pincer steamrolling attempt like when the war began. Same mehtodical grinding. But they will do it from all angles.

Vuhledar has way too much crossfire to be taken without tremendous losses. You can see this by the amount of lives wasted already from the Pavlivka side. Being in that town is being under constant fire control. Yesterday another collumn of Russians got totally destroyed trying to attack losing dosens of men and a bunch of bmp 's.
