That was a necessity since they wanted to fix a mistake, Rugrats could have gotten a videogame in the 1990s for the NES, the show started in 1991, the NES was still strong, but while Ren & Stimpy got a NES game, Rugrats didn't, until now.

I have a suggestion for further developing this as a series of games - try to incorperate any usable element from the later episodes (like characters such as Susy, Dil and Kimmi) while still attempting to remaster the kind of story telling and surrealism of the "Paul Germain" years. THAT's how to handle making the reboot... ;)

there is a NES version that Limited Run sold as well on actual NES carts. There's the gray carts and the limited edition orange carts. They sold out like crazy.

@@gavingrahampawpatrolyescai5761 Steam would have the NES rom with the cartoon version of the game in the files. Then you could move the NES rom to a Everdrive N8 cart via a micro sd card. It's a bit pricey for the cart, but it's possible that way. I've gotten some Sega Genesis games from the Genesis collection that way. That used to be the only legal way to get Sonic 3 and Knuckles was on Steam.

The MIX Games Inc. and Wallride did - besides the Switch-Version the game is also on Xbox Series, PS5 and even the original NES system. 😅

@@W4lmartbag Yes it is, Nickelodeon played it's part in it - you will see that as soon as you start up the game. You can even switch to modern HD-graphics to make it look like a full "Rugrats" episode on all versions of the game, except for the NES-version, which only offers the 8-Bits retro-look that's shown here.

It's not a "cancelled" NES game. It's a new game that started development as an NES game with also having the choice to use "HD" graphics that look like the show. It's getting a legitimate NES cartridge version soon.

Great game really. But i have to say that iam a bit disappointed with the 8 bit graphics. There could have done so much better. This is not even close to the best looking games for the Nes. it lacks detail a lot. Games like Kirbys adventure looks so much better.

@@marissawolff8491 I know its a Switch game. I have it myself but the 8 bit version will also be realesed on a real Nes Cardrige later this year. The fact is still, that there are a lor better looking Nes games. Many later nes games from around 1991-1994 looks a lot better. This lacks color and details. Looks more like an NeS game from 1988.
