I'll add my 2 cents to one of Oliver's points about timeframe: I'm a home designer/archviz artist. When a customer calls to get house plans, the FIRST question I ask is "when are you looking to build?". We get so many calls from people that wait until it's too late to properly take time to do a good job on the project. So if they have an unreasonable time frame, get this information right away and don't waste a 30 minute conversation of listening to them tell you all about their big plans when you aren't going to be able to help them anyway. And DO NOT DO NOT let them talk you into "squeezing it in". This will lead to bad results, stress, and poor customer satisfaction which leads to bad reviews and no referrals to other customers, which is very important. That was a mouthful sorry lol.

100% man, timeframe is everything. There's often two things the client wants - it done yesterday and it done for free...So it's important to actually select your client well so you avoid all these issues, and even more issues down the line. Chances are if they have unreasonable expectations and are bullying you into taking the job, the issues won't just magically disappear down the line.

You can, but often you will need to collaborate on projects if you’re looking for a big company, that’s the only thing. It does slim your chances unfortunately
