Full Guitar Build Montage (Quilted Sapele & Red Spruce)

I didn't film every little part of the build but hopefully I got the important stuff! There are many ways to build a guitar, this is just the way I do it. Maybe some of you can take some of my ideas and try them yourselves. I am always looking for methods to make the process easier and more consistent.

My oldest, dearest friend builds guitars. He made me a double 00 quilted sappele with a mahogany top. I just put new strings on it yesterday. It's one of my favorites! You do beautiful work!, thank you!🎸

You tape a pre-shaped binding on, then saturate it with super-glue, then do another, and the glue seeps down and glues the binding to the routed slot? That's wild! Most folks glue and then tape! Are you pleased with the results? It's much faster!

Yes! Thank you! I thought it might have just been my reduced hearing but my ears didn’t deceive me. I heard it too. I’m not sure if that’s because of the player’s technique or fingering or if it was something to do with the guitar itself.

A machinist named Marty Howard. He’s made cutters for Wayne Henderson and a handful of others. It’s a dandy little tool.
