Thanks so much!! But my problem with COT data is timing..The data is released on Tuesdays to CFTC but we have access to it on Friday..When exactly do we use it ? Is it on Monday or Tuesday of the following week? Because, i have checked the charts severally and the market will do exactly opposite to the data released by the following week..Is the data lagging? or Hedge funds not sincere in the data submitted? Please sir, i will appreciate if you clarify this points..Thanks!

Hi Nick, thanks for your educational videos you are doing for all of us. When I'm checking COT data and going also through other descriptions figuring out that COT data consist of 3 major player. They are three groups of traders (commercial traders, non-commercial, retail traders). Out of the report from the this video we are seeing that report considering only one of the 3 player at market and it is NON - COMMERCIAL positions. Could you please explain when you analyzing COT data why are you analyzing only NON-COMMERCIAL positions and avoiding Commercial and retail positions. Thanks a lot!

Hello, I am a new trader and I have a question about COT report, let´s say I have CHF and there are way more shorts than longs, does this mean the CHF is " Expensive "? And for this reason in the chart is supposed to go up? cleary also assuming that the quote is "cheaper" than the CHF in this assumption. I have been watching this video several times and the previous one you have about COT but I always struggle with this part, basically in how the price is supposed to go depending on the longs and shorts.

Very nice explanation, but.... The report is issued in Tyesday, gets emailed to us on Friday afternoon. This means you can only use it to trade Monday and Tuesday morning before the new report is in effect ( which we won't get till the following Friday) how do you solve this dilemma?

Hey Nick thanks man for your valuable insight in the COT report. I just want to ask one questions that's really been bothering me. How do I know that the institutions are adding longs or shorts in a particular pair? For instance the Yen pairs USDJPY, NZDJPY, GBPJPY, AUDJPY or EURJPY. The COT data generalizes the long and short positions for their trades on the given currency.

Generally, the data in the COT reports is from Tuesday and released Friday. The CFTC receives the data from the reporting firms on Wednesday morning and then corrects and verifies the data for release by Friday afternoon.
