Bret is so funny. I love his humor. He and Jerry are so good together. Im glad they still have eachother to talk to

Great interview. You can really tell how much Bret respects Jerry, & from a guy like Bret that's a major compliment.

To hear Bret compliment Jerry over and over again is really a beautiful thing to hear. I personally don’t think Lawler gets neeeearly the credit he deserves so to hear it from Bret really makes it legit.

Most people realize that Lawler is an icon, but there are so many that do not know how huge Lawler was in his prime(and still is). Andy Kaufman versus Jerry Lawler made national news. The only territory draw that really compares to Lawler is Bruno Sammartino. This was before Vince made everything national.

Lawler's trash talk is amazing. He managed to be infuriating without being hurtful.

It's a line I've heard Jim Cornette use a few times but Cornette will openly admit to stealing a lot of lines from The King.

I wanted hart vs lawler to be the most iconic feud in wrestling. WWE dropped the ball I think. For two years the belt should have bounced back and forth between those two. Lawler had Bobby Heenans wit and ric flairs talent. Arguably better at both. Hart was the champion the wrestling world was waiting for for a long time.

Being a kid when these two had their feud, it's so strange hearing them being so friendly and civil to each other.

Same. They did such a great job that subconsciously we always thought they actually hated each other

I am one of those past kids now in my 30s who ALSO hated Jerry as a kid because I was a Bret fan. Now I respect the hell out of the King

Great friends? Bret's still salty on Lawler on an interview 3 months ago. He said Triple H was an ultimate ass kiss and claimed Shawn Michaels might not be straight.

hart vs lawler was such a great feud back in these days. Jerry insulting bret's parents, bret attacking jerry by surprise when jerry was commentating, jerry threatening bret's sister, the royal rumble hilarious stuff etc... Sometimes it was almost like a soft version of the attitude era but 4 or 5 years in advance. At the end of the day the only really important thing to say is: burger king ! burger king !

That was a really cool episode. I got a little teary eyed at the end there. The really nice thing about the internet is that fans can get to know the wrestlers a little bit through podcasts and webcasts. Something that didn't exist back then when the Hitman and the King had their run together. Back then all you knew was the king was a jerk and the Hitman was a victim. And as far as you knew as a fan, once they left the ring and away from the cameras, that didn't change. Like the whole Bobby Heenan, Gorilla Monsoon thing. they always came across as 2 people that really couldn't stand each other when they were doing broadcasts together. Now we know that, that just wasn't true. It was just part of the show. It was just for entertainment sake. But I have to say that back then when almost everyone thought the king was a Jerk and booing him, In all honesty I always loved the King and that persona he had just strictly for the fact that he was so damn funny. And I've always been about the humor. If you can make me laugh, I love you. And he always made me laugh hard

An interview with Bret where he DOESN'T shit on tons of people? Wow!
@stevendecube28327 жыл бұрын
And Bret Hart taking an interest in someone else's career, that's another first! haha
@andrewj55587 жыл бұрын
This doesn't account for everything, but Bret Hart stopped doing his own personal podcasts because he felt he only used it to channel negativity. Listen to the Ric Flair podcast with Bret.

Was he? I dont recall Bret bashing Lawler really, just saying Lawler stiffed him a couple times when Lawler first came to the WWE: at the King of the Ring when Lawler hit him with the scepter and another time when Lawler hit Bret on the side of the head with a crutch, the crutch wrapped around Brets head and busted his lip

@billblaski95233 жыл бұрын
What bad things? Only thing i remember is Bret saying Lawler stiffed him a few times when Lawler first came to WWE: first at the King of the Ring when Lawler hit Bret with the scepter or chair and then when Lawler hit Hart with a crutch, he hit Bret on the side of the head and the crutch wrapped around and hit Bret in the face. But Bret got him back by cranking the Sharpshooter on Lawler real tight lol
@jjj26192 жыл бұрын
@@billblaski9523 he doesn't show his true colours on other interviews, even 3 months ago in an interview he's salty on Lawler
