A big reason why Michelle isn’t the favorite is because she’s being compared to Beyonce, the undisputed best vocalist of the group, and Kelly, the second longest lasting member of the original lineup who’s known as Beyonce’s adoptive sister and best friend. Both girls, combined with Letoya and Latavia, were the only ones of the lineup who their voices perfectly harmonized with one another. No one will ever replace their 10 long years of hard work and practice to perfection as teens. Not even Matthew Knowles could ever do what Amanda Tillman did for the girls. Michelle will always be seen as the odd one of the group because she was never meant to be part of the band to begin with. Her voice is so distinctive that you immediately know she’s there in the song, which is not something you want in a band that is well-known for having instinctively-perfect harmonies between the backup and lead vocalists. However, she has an amazing voice that only sensitive souls could ever understand and that’s why Beyonce and Kelly were able to adapt to her faster than what the fandom will ever do.

She doesn't have the deepness of Beyonce, that's not her voice! But she definitely has more range than Kelly if we're talling vocals. Beyonce works hard with her vocal coaches, you can tell because the texture and depth of her voice has changed ALOT especially after kids. It's become much heavier and growly which she uses very well to her advantage.
