Full interview: Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd celebrates 50 years in law enforcement | 10 Tampa Bay

Fifty years in any job is an accomplishment, and Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd is celebrating his five decades in law enforcement this month. According to the sheriff's office, Judd started his illustrious career with the Polk County Sheriff's Office in 1972 as a dispatcher. In 1974, Judd transferred to the sheriff's office's patrol division, where he "quickly progressed through the ranks - holding every rank from Sergeant to Colonel."
After 32 years with the sheriff's office, in 2004 Judd was "overwhelmingly" elected to serve as the county's sheriff. And it's a position he has held ever since.

We have a young Sheriff in my county in Eastern NC that is just as good as Judd,he was the youngest person to get elected for Sheriff!!! He coaches the HS baseball team, owns a landscaping business that employs felons and is PRO LIFE /PRO GUN!!!! The only people who don't like him are the criminals....lol

Congratulations Sheriff Judd. i was a Volunteer Firefighter and EMT for 7 years in the town I grew up in, actively pursuing a career in law enforcement. I moved to Orlando September 7th, 1997 with an appointment to interview with Orange County Sheriffs Dept.. I passed all tests and was eligible, but didn't get hired. At 27, I decided to move on to other things and ended up in the chemical industry. I had accounts all over Orlando and in Lake Wales, Haines City and Bartow. Beautiful country back then. Can't imagine what it looks like now with all of the growth. I ended up getting hired by a national chemical company called Ecolab down there, and transferred home back to Ohio, eventually going to work for Ford Motor Company and getting into Robotics. Turns out that was my passion. I retired last year at 62. God Bless you and all of the woman and men in uniform.

Exceptional man! We need more. Used to be these type of strong men were more obvious and served many roles. Society's liberal slant has taken away from respecting police officers and especially men.
