Believe me or not.... This crap was told to the US politicians everytime they'd visit Pakistan but they didn't believe and left with the impression "this guy is playing double game against us" Instead US politicians chose those Pakistanis who spoke what US wanted to hear "everything is good sir, throw some more billions and everything will get fine"

Randian Media - listen you dall khoor, Pakistan did what it could for its own gain. Pakistan has done no favor to Afghanistan. They feared of Afghanistan growing powerful in 70s and they proposed the Mujahiden idea to U.S. U.S wanted Russian/ soviet fall and Pakistan wanted weak Afghanistan. So they spread propaganda to Afghan villagers and supported the fighter with weapons to destroy their own government. So here we are. If afghans do the same to Pakistan then Pakistan deserves a fall.

Gen. Asad and his ilk are clearly on top of issues facing Pakistan. He is absolutely right on playing more than a double game with the U.S. and not getting consistent good faith and cooperation from the U.S. Any other country facing a similar geopolitical mess like Pakistan would, I am sure, not play a double but many multiple games even just to survive, let alone prosper. The Gen. was right that to simply get foreign funds the govt. must not antagonize groups that enjoy the support of respectable sections of the nation ! Despite this, I believe, only the deep state in both the U.S. and Pakistan know exactly what is going on and when, and if, things will pan out positively well for the peoples of the entire region that is lagging far behind most of the other regions of the world !

This General was the main architect of deadly cross border insurgency in Kashmir in 1990 using battle hardened fighters of AF theatre. Good thing about this interview, he openly acknowledges the duplicitous way in which Pak Army and ISI operates who are the true rulers of Pakistan. This same strategic ploy of DUPLICITOUS was cunningly executed continuously by PAK ARMY & ISI to kick US out of Afghanistan in 2021.

I have respect for Mr.Durrani as a true Soldier of his country Pakistan. As an Indian, I appreciate an intelligent enemy. I think his logic is based on Predictive Modelling minus Emotion which includes religion, beliefs and personal elements of the society used as attributes of possible outcomes of a "Long War Algorithm". I think he may be correct technically in ideal conditions which seems to be an Achilles heel. He is counting the chickens even before the eggs have been hatched. Good planning and success for brief period of time but a powerful backfire is "inevitable". The sad part is he would have been an asset to his country through his intelligence had he been a Politician or an Administrator. Unknowingly he has sown seeds of destruction in his Algorithm without considering intelligence of others.

The General is correct in that the current Kabul based government is weak and could be toppled. Also that the only long-term solution in Afghanistan is a political compromise. But he has, understandably, been quiet on how short-sighted tactical actions by the Pakistan military have deeply disturbed the fabric of Afghanistan. The situation at present is not bright, but I hope things stay at least peaceful enough for Afghanistan's economy to get back on track
