Yes, it 100 percent was. I was rooting for Japan as their slick passing game was so easy on the eye. Belgium could come bear the Japanese players. I think they got tired towards the end and Belgium sucker-punched them.

As a neutral, the ending to this game was painful. Japan played so well and were clearly the underdog in this game. Had they won this game nobody could say that they didn't deserve it. Big problem: when Kompany was in the team, Belgium played 10 against 11; follow his movements (or rather his passivity) on the Japanese and Brazilian goals. Boyata had played three clear matches and he was substituted because Kompany was preferred by Martinez who made very big mistakes. (Like wanting first place in group G) Second place would have led Belgium to the final without having to pass the tough Japanese and... Brazil!. The English coach had a finer nose.
