Felix is scary, only 16 and still developing well like FZD or Harimoto did. He will be a top 5 player soon and stay there until 2030

The scary thing is that there are many areas he can improve though he is that good all ready.

Felix has improved his forehand a lot. He is now a true "Chinese" penholder: close to the table, continuous fast forehand attack, combined with killer backhand. A rising superstar!

Strange thing, we call (me too) that "Chinese penholder" because it was mainly used for a long time by Chinese players (who have mostly abandoned this grip now in 2023, funny things come back ^^) while it was invented and used for the first time by a European player.

@@segotsopheto3277 This is a misconception because after its first use, it was mainly Chinese players who adopted it and won with it. The real name of this racquet grip is simply "Porte-Plume" (penholder so in English), it was "invented" and used for the first time in official international competition in Europe in the 1930s by a Hungarian woman player several times "World Champion", Anna Sipos.

@@clio2rsminicupwhen Felix starts beating some of the top Chinese players, it'll probably inspire a renaissance and reappraisal of the penhold style in China, that's the only way penhold can come back, as long as shakehanders keep winning, it's improbable.

Felix has so much composure, even when he missed that FH attack for the 10-7 in the last game. After losing so many points, barely any reaction, just calming down and getting ready for the next one. Impressive for a 16yo

Totalmente de acuerdo. Yo he trabajado más de 4 años en Francia y aunque soy español me encanta ver que los hermanos Lebrun estén entre los primeros puestos en el ranking mundial de la ittf.

Felix has certainly done well! In Slovenia, when the whole room is against you, to beat a Slovenian, and even such as Jorgic, is worth a lot.

That so called ex yugos fans heat is a myth: the Lebrun have seen way hotter crowds in french pro B this year, specially in Bruille that looks like a boxing gym with people right there behind you, screaming, yelling, using horns, Tours ( 3 000 people in a volley ball arena) or Lille. Just remember how Schlager won: it was in Paris, the best crowd when it comes to « kill » chinese players.

I mean.. Lebruns have had 100% worked on their psych and what they did works, just compare how they handled bad streaks few months ago vs now, its just so amazing to watch them at rhis young age grown so much in psy

Nice match. You instantly knew Jorgic is in big trouble when he couldn't finish the first game even though he had like 4 (?) lucky net balls. Felix takes more time between serves than his brother Alexis and atm he seems more focused and relaxed, therefore being more successful. You really start to think that he can catch up to his big brother - nice development+improvement. But we will see, this "rivalry" changes with every tournament and wins/losses. Great crowd atmosphere, loved it. Also refreshing commentators, I really like Adam Bobrow, but it's nice to have a change of pace sometimes

Lebrun played like 90 percent on Jorgic's backhand, but Jorgic didn't really move to be able to use his forehand more.

And I can tell you that the Chinese know it! We know in France that they spy and follow very closely the 2 Lebrun brothers and especially for 3 months the youngest Félix, to learn how to counter the young European player of 16yo whom they also see as a future big danger for Chinese players...

@@piercejiang6602 lol yes of course but just look at him playing table tennis , look at his shot and his game you can see he is different from a lot of world class player, there is some world class player who just cant win against him at 16yo at 99% ! other french dont will like this comment because they dont want to compare the 2 brothers but for me felix when you look how he play he can be a legend , for me alexis cant be a legend like 95% of world class player but i love alexis and without alexis félix cant be félix but its like that

Jorgic: surprisingly many backhand and receive errors in standard situations. Also it seems like he forces his backhand signature stroke way too often. IMO too much risk which didn't work out

Pourtant plus jeune que son frère, Félix donne l'exemple à suivre, rester calme, positif et montrer son talent à la table. Alexis en perdant sur Truls était rentré dans une mauvaise spirale, servir alors que son adversaire n'était pas positionné, manque de respect total et défaite inévitable...

Les jeunes apprennent de leur aîné , il y a plein d'exemple de réussite ou ce sont les derniers qui " réussissent" complètement. Et puis, il n'a rien a perdre, il est jeune , aucune pression sur les épaule , pression que , je pense qu'Alexis porte puisqu'il doit montrer l'exemple.

Le niveau européen ne semble plus pour lui..le premier europeen depuis trés longtemps a s'attaquer aux chinois? la marche est trés haute encore parce qu'il faudra battre du wang chuqin et ensuite du fzd....et pas qu'une fois...a 15 ans -16 ans il jouait déja au top niveau ...bref le plus gros challenge arrive pour félix! et c'est cool a voir!
