Harimoto has clearly currently the biggest potential of any player on the tour, when he plays at his level he is unbeatable. Unfortunately the mental side isn't always consistent. He reminds me of Ma Long in the early stages of his career.

Would he have beat ma long? Fan zhendong? I believe this was because of experience. Lin shidong has so much experience against Chinese players. Harimoto was able to force out errors and win this match, but he was playing a bit weak (as normal). He outsmarted lin this time, but I don't know how repeatable it is. We will see, but he did play well. I just can't help but think it is slightly because lin is tired and didn't play his best. If lin is playing well, he can beat anyone in the world, we will see if his career ends up being like zhang jike, brief but extremely strong. I hope not.

今次亞錦賽林詩楝一直表現良好，男單決賽判若兩人，不是張本打得好，而是林勁差。國乒領隊須付責任，好球員像被榨乾，一姐莎疲憊落敗，小石頭最後一場也疲態盡露，和之前的水準有天淵之別，未來，張本想再贏詩棟，恐怕沒有那麼容易了。因為林詩棟的水平已接近樊振東了，球賽如賽馬，出賽太多，沒有了那股銳氣和新鮮感，埋門就失敗了，領隊先生，今後不要一位球員參加三項比賽了，集中兩項，十拿九穩。2024年10月14日

So eine arrogante Art die Siegerpose von ihm auch noch vor der chinesischen Bank. Das kann er stecken lassen. Der größte ist er nicht wie er sich gibt. So was von abgehoben. Soll mal schön dem Teppich bleiben. So überzeugend hat er im Finale auch nicht gespielt.
