I enjoyed the game, there were some exciting rallies. But the big quality difference in line-ups and coaches was obvious. Maja showed how you run a game, Herbots and Zhu showed how to be an outside hitter. Antrapova was on her day while Bosko was off (still she tried). Maybe the only equivalent position was libero. They both did a great job. Even as a Turkish fan I always thought Eczacibasi is very overrated. Their block and transition game was a joke in this game. They had been getting lucky in the pool drawings, that is it.

Antropova fast, tall , strong.. hard to defend by the block.. she can go anywhere on the court to include the pipeline where I think she would be just unstoppable ... with that body type she can age and keep a tremendous athleticism.

i dont think she’s fast. to me, that’s her weakness. and her spike technique is not the same as Zhu, Boskovic and Egonu where they always hit the ball over the blockers. That’s why they were unstoppable. Disclaimer: Zhu when she was on her top form. Obviously, she’s currently not what she used to be.l. Hope she will still make her “real” comeback in Paris so that China will still be one of the favorites alongside with Turkey, Serbia, Brazil, Italy and USA.

@@dionbautista Good morning. Just to be specific on one thing... to contribute: hitting over the block is more a result of athleticism than technique. By having the athleticism and developing the jumping technique, with a decent size, the player should be hitting downward, oftenly with the ball "in front" of him / her. Example of this: Allan's younger brother (brazil). His athleticism is beyond outstanding at this very moment. Hitting technique is something else that has to do with hand and arm rotation, looking for to aim spots or get away from the block even when you start falling. Example: Wallace from Brazil. Egonu is better with tight sets because of size she gets higher and hits downward, not too much of hitting technique. Voskovic gets lost in tight sets, she is better hitting, after jumping from 3 mts and hitting away from the block; that has been good for her for a while (because of size). Now , she is actually looking for to improve hitting technique (sideways, angles, to the line). From my POV, something is going on with her... maybe motivation.
