Probably was scrapped from the beta because they wanted to just make him a surprise. When it comes to the full roster I think we'll have 40 monsters at launch personally. I think capcom has scrubbed alot more out than people are expecting

I'm 100% expecting capcom to do what they did with Bazel when world launch where he was a complete secret until people got to high rank and encountered him. So far we haven't really seen any monsters that fill the invader type roll. Plus they have an entire 4th and 5th map to populate with monsters and I just don't think fewer than 40 monsters will adequately populate 5 maps

Hoping that some stuff did get successfully scraped and there's still a few left. All this game needs now is a new snake wyvern, a new neopteran, and hopefully Gammoth, and it would probably be the most diverse roster of monsters in terms of skeletons that we've ever gotten. A new carapaceon for the expansion and it would be the most diverse game in the series thanks to the potential new mollusk class as well. Love to see it.

I think some of you are forgetting that Capcom have tried to scrub most of the data from the beta before it reached pc, meaning all of this that we see is just stuff they didn’t scrub away in time. Which means chances are there are elder dragons, they just managed to scrub their data along with gammoth’s (assuming the trunk part break is her) away in time before anyone got to see it. And further more on the “there’s no elder dragons” people heard the devs say the focus of world was the elder dragons, so there were a lot more of them than ever before and just ran with it as them stating there’s absolutely gonna be none when it was just them saying there won’t be as many as worldborne did.

My current theory for Gore Magala being here and back in full swing is that Arkveld is it's natural rival. Gore/Shagaru come in, spread the frenzy virus and Arkveld tries to stop them to secure it's turf. They then fight eachother to the death. Would be pretty cool if you ask me.

I KNEW IT!!! I knew it! Gore vs Arkveld is a thing. The White Wraith vs the Black Eclipse. The reason of this rivalry is set on the basis of Gore's reveal. Arkveld being the rival especies woke up and set free ravaging the Keeper's village. A few years later after that first Gore's turn to Shagaru and defeat to the Caravan's Hunter, Arkveld went on to sleep again, waking up to another Gore's awakening, powering up by beating Wilds locale's apexes and preparing for the final boss as well.

If this is legit, I'm quite happy with this part of the roster. Looks like Lagiacrus may be coming back for sure this time. I'm also looking forward to seeing Seregios again. Fulgur Anjanath and Ebony Odogaron are quite a surprise, this would be the first time we've gotten a subspecies instead of the regular variation if Anjanath and Odogaron don't return. I could see Shagaru Magala being a title update monster but we'll see. Now the trunk is interesting, maybe it's Gammoth but it could also be new monster based on a proboscidean. I'd love to see a monster based on Deinotherium in a Monster Hunter game. I'd also be pretty happy to be getting a new classification with cephalopods. This not only opens the door the octopus, but also squid, ammonites, and even cuttlefish monsters.

Thanks for compiling and presenting A TON of information in such a streamlined manner. There’s a lot to unpack from this data, but very happy Capcom is really doubling down on ecology and exploring the idea of extinct species. I initially thought Capcom was using Wilds as a platform to portray Elder Dragons as “forces of nature” instead of just powerful monsters, and it seems this might be the case. That said, Rise only introduced elder dragons as the endgame bosses, and returning elder dragons did not feature until the title update. It is very possible that Wilds will introduce elder dragons in the various title updates.

I wonder if we are going to have a Sunbreak situation with the Title updates where they will give us like 3-4 monster per title update? Getting classic Elder Dragons and older monster Subspecies from Title Updates, culminating into a Gogmazios and Wilds Last Boss Variant (or Extinct Species Black Dragon) would be dope. Then the actual expansion could give us more new monsters, Wilds monster subspecies, culminating into a return of Yama Tsukami (due to cephalopods), expansion flagship Variant and maybe an Extinct Species Black Dragon.

The biome we saw in the demo looked like it was an ant mound with melted tinfoil poured in to some of it so it would be interesting to know if one of the Apex Monsters end up being a Queen Ant-looking monster whose biome was partially destroyed by another monster that melted down metal or something of that nature.

I personally feel the full base game roster will be about 35-38 monsters. We have 31 confirmed here, and I got the feeling we're missing an entire map of monsters, which for the case of every map reveal so far, would be about 3 monsters. Also the directors saying they're taking a backseat on the Elder Dragons is probably (mostly) a fake lie, so I imagine there should be a classic elder dragon trio to be a part of the game (but it is also entirely likely that they get introduced via a title update) And finally, Shagaru, as I feel he has to play a role in the base game. It just wouldn't make all too much sense if he wasn’t unless they were pulling an Allmother

@@RathalosWatch Still though, I feel at bare minimum a 5th map worth of monsters (3) and at least 1 Elder Dragon should still be somewhere in the base roster. Maybe something else extra also, but I agree, the bare minimum should be 34-36. Base Rise had only had 37 monsters before the updates, and 3 of the monsters in the base roster were apexes, which to me lowers it down to 34 monsters. Now if we are to include title updates into the equation, I imagine there would be about 6-7 monsters introduced. Zinogre and Mizutsune, the 3 elder dragon trio (or "an" elder trio), a seige fight, and maybe Shagaru if he is for some reason not in the base roster Potentially they could also add some final super challenging monster for the last update. Either a new elder dragon or variant, or perhaps a final extinct species for the base game like Rey Dau or a Stygian Zinogre If accounting all of this, 35-36 would be the potential base roster, 41-43 for all title updates, and 44 at absolute max include every title update + a potential final challege before the expansion

I do agree. we're missing a few monsters on this list. like if we're going to gravios then there's an extremely high chance for Basarios too. Base Anja and odo to go with their subspecies is a bit dubious but possible, Gammoth is still plausible with "broken parts trunk" being found as well as it being her turn for a new gen update out of the fated four and Shagaru comes with Gore magala as a pair. that could bring the roster to a reasonable 36 monsters.

It is worth noting that even if the Chinese leak is 100% accurate, we know that the title update monsters might be subject to change. We know from data mine stuff that Oroshi Kirin was intended as an update monster to World, but was scrapped at some point, so the same could certainly be true for Wilds.

The extinct species thing is interesting. Especially for ebony Odogaron, Fulgur Anjanath and Doshaguma of all monsters. I wonder if this means they are extinct species that became those monsters or just are those monsters. Also if it just those monsters it’s interesting that they’re now just having sub-species be apart of a roster without the base species.

Likely atleast 4-6 monster still missing from this. Even with the unknown ones, without a few more additions the ice and oil biomes are going to feel very empty without a few more additions. With Seregios being added and most likely living in the Plains I feel like thats going to be a very crowded biome. ATLEAST 8-9 (depending if you count arkveld since we don't know if he was just there to fight Rey Dau or if he actually goes to the map sometimes) different monsters from the base roster will occupy it. Thats so much more than the 3-6 in the oilwell basin.

THIS IS THE BIG ONE!!! ok first of all lagiacrus back is HUGE news, finally the Leviathan king is rising, hope they found a way to reflesh or rework his fight, maybe when the heavy rain happens he electrify the waters with new attacks, lets hope he have great Turf wars with uth duna Then gore magala being there is also great stuff, i think the Frenzy making madness in the ecosystem could be awesome and nightmarish, maybe the male pangolin that protect his family starts attack it, maybe territorial fight betwen the pachy looking monsters, maybe the raptors attack each other or try to hunt down big monsters, having this huge and full of life ecosystem with a plague like Frenzy can end up in almost mh crossed vibes to me (crossed is a comic series VERY gore with a virus that turn people into sadistic killers, similar to Frenzy but with humans) And the final huge stuff... Like extint species looks promising, and the fact that i predict the "maybe the subspecies return and not the normal one" is awesome, and maybe Even this can make crimson qurupeco back in dlc, but man... I still feel like Shagaru Magala will return as it's just the adult version of Gore Magala so, I don't see why it wouldn't make an appearance as I don't see them keeping a monster like that locked at juvi status. It'd be a pretty easy addition as they already basically have the model and animation set for it cause it's still Gore Magala just with some tweaks and color changes and whatnot, plus it still fits with the whole "Not putting emphasis on Elder Dragons" as it'd only be 1 Elder Dragon. Whether it'll be there on launch or if it shows up in a Title Update is a different story tho.

Interesting. Not only the leaks reveal the codes that tell the returning monsters and the new ones, but it also reveal extinct species of several of them. However, they were still leaks, and it seems Capcom still not gonna make the reveals official just yet. That will come in December like Capcom will give the reveals as gifts from Christmas.

I'm still going with, and it makes more sense. Arkveld is the chains that holds(keeps)/kept something at bay. A literal gatekeeper. So it's very likely, Shagaru's number wasn't put in yet, however it's likely that Arkveld is a gatekeeper between Gore and Shagaru. Since we have so many throwbacks to 4th gen. I'm also willing to wager we may potentially see Dalamadur or something very similar show up, which would be an awesome addition. World followed the elder dragon migration, which was the focus. Wilds however is focused on the ecology far more, and in essense our place in that ecology. Which would include the apex monsters, and above them elder dragons akin to tiers like Gore Magala, Teostra, Kushala and so on. And then those who are on a different tier, such as Xeno'jiiva, Fatalis, Alatreon, Dalamadur and so on. You'd also have ones like Gogmazios thrown in there as well. The fact you also have Gravios now will lead to no doubt his juvenile form of Basarios. I'm willing to say that Wilds may have a roster hitting closer to 40 with extra content after, then the expansion? I'd like to see it push closer to 50-60 by the end, or even more potentially. We know with the Raths Azure/Pink will show up whether in base or potentially high rank(which makes sense) and then gold/silver in master/G rank. Or be considered "legendary" in this case. A lack of say Diablos is interesting, though I'm still willing to bet there'll be a Diablos. As he's been in as many titles as Rathalos. In short, I've got the feeling that Wilds is going to be for lack of better term, wild by the end of the day.

The unknown monsters are all new because of the monster IDs and their order telling us it's a new 6th gen monster, if Gogmazios was in we'd see the Gogmazios ID which isn't present, however the beta is most likely missing code so it's possible not all monster IDs are in the game, so it's still possible.
