There’s always been something about the world of Gears that enraptured me since the first Gears game. Getting to know these characters, seeing new sites, fighting a diverse set of enemies, learning more about the worlds lore and (at a relatively young age) learning about the true horrors of war here than any other peace of medium did. It’s a little sad really cause I feel like the more recent games from a story and character perspective has gone a bit downhill. I feel like they’re trying to make social statements that try to reflect today’s world with the humans of Sera constantly at each other’s throats rather than what it was in the first 3 Gears games and that was having all the humans of Sera sharing the common collective idea of fighting and ending a horrific never ending war, and then going deep into the trials and errors of that. Yes, in the first 3 games the humans did have their arguments their bickering and sparks of angers towards one another, but they would always go back to the bottom line and that was ending the war against the locust horde. At least that’s just me. Love this series. Gears 2 still has the best campaign, it truly felt like an epic, large scale war.

Me and my cousin played all the gears together. Except for the 5th. Because it just didn’t feel the same after doms death. When we first played it we both were in tears.
