▼Synopsis
This is the second drama series broadcast in 1982 in Fuji Television's ""Historical Drama Special"". Hiroki Matsukata and Gannosuke Ashiya play a pair of former Onmitsus who are extorted by the bad guys, but are applauded for their justice and efforts to help the weak. The part where they trick the patrolman will make you laugh out loud.
Formerly a secret agent of the shogunate, Sanzo (Matsukata Hiroki) and Yumenogosuke (Ashiya Gannosuke), are now on the run, with their lives in danger, and make their way to Kurume Castle in Kyushu. Sanzo extorts an official patrolman, but is caught and thrown in jail. Meanwhile, Gosuke meets Tanokura Tanosuke (Shohei Hino) and Otoyo (Izumi Ayukawa), a street performer couple traveling with their son, Daikichi. However, they are attacked by a group of samurai. Saved by a female swordsman (Etsuko Shihomi) dressed as a man, the Tanokura family heads for Hiyoshi. Gosuke rescues Sanzo from prison, and in order to get even more money, the two fool the patrolmen into believing that they have been attacked by a gang of kororis and detain them, then pretend to be the patrolmen and head for Hitoyoshi. At the same time, Hitoyoshi's Karo, Ijuin Taito (Narita Mikio), is plotting to take control of the clan under the pretense of the illness of the clan's lord. In fact, Daikichi is the illegitimate son of the feudal lord, and the female swordsman is Shizu, the daughter of Beppu Gunbei, the feudal lord's retainer who is trying to protect the clan from Ijuin.

At 10:50 anyone recognize him? He is Shohei Himo who played Ushi on the series "Priest of Darkness" starring Shintaro Katsu. In Japanese that series was called "Tsukai! Kochiyama Soshun." He also played a regular character on the series "Undercover Geisha." He's 73 now.
