The one big thing you are missing is if you get in a accident with slicks on your vehicle it is a automatic void on Insurance they will NOT COVER YOU OR YOUR VEHICLE!!!

I would be more worried about the factory gas tank located behind the seats in the cab. How was that ever a good idea? 🔥 Craig needs to swap to a rear race cell.

Hey Craig, really good "look" on the old girl with the slicks, but take it from me, even if it gets humid, hold on, you may find yourself visiting people through their shop front, front fence, or general ditches. They won't last very long either! Great for track though. Not wanting to get you down but be careful. Cheers

and fun fact. You can run a 15. I have 15x6 weld draglites for mine. You need a 1" spacer. I got mine through American Muscle for about 90$. The issue is the face of the caliper, not the overall diameter. The 12" rotor + 4 " of space is theoretical. Experimental depends on the wheel. The face of the caliper sits farther out than the mounting surface on the rotor. The 1" spacer fixes that, and also makes the track width the same front to back, at least it does on my chassis swapped 72

Can't stop admiring the look of this F100.... and I got a 2019 Roush Nitemare sitting outside. I'm considering getting a belltech 1000 SP lowering kit especially for the rear, but I'm waiting until I use up most of the time on my warranty.

295/50R15 is very close to the same size as your racing tires. 10" tread width and 26" tall. I put them on my '66 F100 20 years ago, bitchin stance. If you are doing King pins look at swapping out for the '73-'79 1/2 ton axles found at any junkyard, and you'll get disc brakes, grab the master cylinder, booster and proportioning valve. Pull the the entire front end, radius arms, I beams, rotors, calipers. It's a quick cheap alternative to after market. I did this to my '66 as well. You can swap the F-250's as well for the guys with 8 lug trucks with drum brakes

10:27 That worn Kingpin problem is accentuated by the need of more positive caster. More caster, the more stable the steering will feel in bumps and irregularities

10:27 your describing bump steer. After you replace the kingpins and get everything properly tight and it's still doing it. Look for a way to drop your tie rod to wherever they connect to the lower part of the knuckle or whatever you got on the truck. My fox has this issue even after I've done a full 95 front knuckle swap and replaced my bushings. It just has to do with the geometry of the tie rods.

Forget it ! 😉 If you ever get stopped tell the cop you are coming back from a burnout contest that's why theres no tread left 😃😄😂 If he mentions the front tries tell him you wasted those in the 1st round of the contest then changed the backs with the fronts for the 2nd round ! If he's still mad tell him you lost in the 2nd round and maybe just maybe he'll feel sorry for you ! 😆 Have fun & good luck !

Craig, I know you are trying to pass good info on to other backyard mechanics, but you are going down a slippery slope. Slicks on the street are illegal in all 50 states because of no traction in wet conditions. By advising other people how to do it, you are then taking some of the responsibility. If someone who followed your advice has an accident and heaven forbid with injuries or death, they are going to own you for the rest of your life.

This guy is having trouble he says steering the truck due to suspension, steering and drum brakes he claims, or maybe he’s just used to power steering and brakes. These old trucks and cars drive easily with one hand as long as your rolling even at less than 5 mph, he needs to just stop crying about his weak abilities. Plus, you can buy nascar style tires that have DOT tread and are legal for roadways and great on the track, slicks are totally unnecessary, a waste on this truck and look weird on these trucks. Not to mention, that engine isn’t even making enough power for those tires to be useful on a track anyway, it’s illegal for use on the road and insurance won’t cover you or your truck and you’ll likely be sued if you get into an accident from obvious lack of lawful use of the vehicle. More power to you but, you’ll learn quick once an accident happens.
