Honestly found it in like 3 days, caught me by suprise for sure! But after my deoxys hunt a short one was needed haha

@@BigBangBen- Deoxys took like 3 months of on and off hunting to find sadly, and no you can't get it without getting the event. there may be a way to do it with a berry glitch, but i'm not aware of it.

@@BigBangBen- here's an update, I made a copy of my save file and reset the event pokemon, so if you head over to my discord and go to the "Downloads" section you can download the saves to play them on an emulator or put them on a physical cartridge. (discord.gg/mkWM2BdN)
