Full of the Joys of Spring: Salmon fishing on the River Tyne

I'm out fly fishing for an early salmon at Dilston on the river Tyne.

Very good video, just the sound of the water and you pulling line from the reel. You've gone beyond numbers of fish to just enjoying the scenery and the changing face of nature.

Enjoyed your day out ! Lovely beat; I've never fished the main Tyne but fished the N Tyne many a time around Bellingham and up to Falstone; had some good fishing but mainly with coloured fish-inevitable I suppose. Well done for sticking at it for a springer- at age 68 I've never had one before June-lost one in March 40 years ago which still hurts (Tweed). As a barman on the Tay said to me once-'It's a madness-but a very pleasant form of madness'. He was right.

Thanks, forty years and you still feel it!! It was a funny old year by all accounts on the main Tyne this year. A lot of the fish just ran through the main Tyne beats and didn't stop till they were half way up the north Tyne or if there was water the south Ttne.

ha ha, typical of my Salmon vids. Lovely day, pleasure to be out but blanking. You might be a tad better at Samon fishing, but I don't think I could be any worse at singing pal😅 I'm definitely getting a Springer this year🤥 Above Average Angler.

Yes, I was using a rio outbound scandi though recently I had a hardy rocket intermediate head on there which goes really well. Good setup 👌

That's a shame but I suppose they have their reasons. It is unfortunate that by choosing to post videos it really restricts where you can fish. Maybe time to join the fed?
