Fantastic video. Just finished my oil change and I dont think I would have managed without your video. Saved me some money doing it myself. Thanks again.

just did it today according to your video. Thank you for the information. just one thing. I used a shorter 27mm socket to remove the oil filter and did not have to remove the air filter box.

I'm going to have to check the filter on mine. When I put the new one in I pushed it into the cap first then back into the engine. Didn't realise there was a place for the notch on the filter to lock into, I thought it was a spacer of some sort. I thought if it was not located properly I wouldn't have been able to screw the cap back in fully?

Thanks for the video, I mainly watched it for the socket sizes, ford don't make it easy to get to the oil filter! PS when checking the oil I believe you are meant to push the dipstick in all the way?

Great info upload i am doing my first focus this weekend. Did you ever change the fuel filter on your diesil
@EducationPineapple4 жыл бұрын
Yes I went to remove the whole lot to get to the starter motor, however I didn't change the filter element. You can see how if you watch the starter motor job.

Wonderful log, those oil remnants near the turbo intake side, is that normal?
@EducationPineapple3 жыл бұрын
That is normal, as some oil needs to lubricate the turbo shaft. It comes from a pipe directed from the middle of the engine.

Hi, Interesting video. These days I should with my brother in law first time to change oil on FF 1.6TDCi year 2011. My question is it possibile to mix Ow30 and 5w30? Because I have rest oil in three cans so would like to use it all. And how many liters should to fill up? I can use stick for oil level measurement and fill up to above half for example? Thank You for an Answer in advance! 😊
@EducationPineapple4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely you can mix oils. Check with your owner's manual. It will say 0w 30 and also 5w 30. Use the dip stick to check. I usually fill it up to the upper Mark on the stick with the car on level ground. I would say you need about 4.5 litres for a 1.6

Great video but you should change the oil filter before draining the oil from the sump. The reason is the oil filter housing is full of oil & when you undo the filter housing the oil in it falls back into the sump. If you do the filter first all the old oil is drained out.
@EducationPineapple4 жыл бұрын
Ok, thanks
@LaurenceGough2 жыл бұрын
Old comment reply but I think as long as you keep the sump bolt out you can change the oil filter still, same effect right? I wish there was a way to preoil the filter path before engine startup.

When you plan to make a video about fuel filter change on this car ? Please let me know because I want to try it on my car. Cheers
@EducationPineapple5 жыл бұрын
Make sure you don't do that one on the Focus until somebody like me tries it because there's no obvious way to pump the pressure in the system like the hand pump available in some other cars.
@EducationPineapple4 жыл бұрын
I've done a fuel filter removal (filter not changed but shown how) for this car see the link here kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2qup4BjiZetrtk
@nothingmuch.30144 жыл бұрын
@@EducationPineapple I presume after you change the filter, you turn the ignition on & off 10 or so times to prime the filter. Can leave one fuel line off (filter to engine) and turn the key until fuel comes out of the filter, then reconnect the line, but usually don't have to do this with most cars. When started i hold the throttle on for a few seconds so the engine doesn't stall from air locks in the lines

5w 30 is better oil IMHO. The 0w 30 oil is used just to bring immisions down below 100g of co2 for the free road tax.
@LaurenceGough2 жыл бұрын
Thin oil is better for getting to all areas too especially on startup, and better for mpg. Lubricity shouldn't be impacted overall I'd say? Also it's nice to have better mpg.

Will triple qx 15w-40 oild be okay?
@EducationPineapple3 жыл бұрын
Please refer to your owner's manual for your specific car...if you own the same car as me, you MUST NOT use 15w 40 oil for your Ford 1.5 TDCI...the correct oil will be something like 0w-30 A5/B5, or 5w-30 A5/B5...

You jacked up only the front part. Are you sure this is OK, because drain hole is under the carter, not on the rear. In some car, drain holes are slightly back, so when you jack up only the front wheels, all fluid comes out.
