Not the same engine as the Zonda; all Zondas (race spec or not) used the M120, an older design. It's a little different, with 4 valves per cylinder, dual overhead cam (the M137 is a 3-valve, single overhead cam design)...and it's not only larger (6.0 liters vs 5.8) but also more powerful (394 to 408 PS, depending on model year, versus 367 PS from the M137).

Phil Lataille This is a different engine than the V12 TT. Turbos smooth and muffle sound so the original engine sound won't remain, it can't, that's the nature of turbos. Think of a turbo I6 vs NA I6, they sound extremely different.

***** Not a chance, different engine completely, compression ratio, heads, non-turbo. Remove the turbos and maybe with customs pistons and heads but it still won't sound similar and what's point. If you really like this engine and sound, get one and then supercharge it, you can keep the sound that way.

Hi @w2200178137 is there a varient of these headers for a m275 i think the engine and car layout is quite similar but the turbos will add extra complications to the headers. I'm looking to do something with my cars exhaust next year and wouldn't mind sorting the headers is possible.

This exhaust system is custom built to order straight from Japan. If you are in the US, there is only one company that I know of that can bring this to the states. They are known at Bullet Proof Automotive located in California. The exhaust system consists of: a) custom fabricated equal length headers b) front pipe (racing catalytic converter), and c) center pipe. It costs $9,000 USD. I have been trying to emulate that sound on my 2001 S600 by converting the factory exhaust to true dual straight pipes. It's close but not that high pitched. You can check it out on my channel.

Bottom Out Garage The Gas mileage on the stock V12 naturally aspirated are pretty decent. On highways, half the engine shuts off and operates on 6 cylinder. With that you can get more than 20+mpg. BUT, if you are doing this type of exhaust work as shown in the vid, you will end up getting much less. Because you are essentially removing the cats, resonators, and stock mufflers and running straight pipes.

Well, if you have the exact same exhaust system, then yes it would SOUND the same. However, the automatic transmission may limit the high rev sounds as you would have to have your foot on the floor. In addition, a manual car would be able to maintain the sound (say, 1st gear 5000 RPM) and it would sound lovely. An automatic would not be able to.

No unfortunately you won't be able to get this exact sound. Reason is due to the limited space the twin-turbo motors have for a set of custom headers. Plus the twin-turbos themselves change the sound. This will only work for the 2001-2002 S600 and possibly CL600. Models above 2003, it will not work.

I would be pretty split riding this car. Its got the luxury/ boat handling of the S class, but the sounds of a Zonda. Call me crazy but that howl would be annoying for me on long distance cruises that the s class was intended for. It would be so tight butthole if they could implement a electronic cutout of some sort to tone the car down and lay low.
