If you all who made derogatory comments had paid attention during both parts, you would have known that Matt didn't spend the full $1000 cost of the book out of his own pocket; rather, the cost was split amongst 10 to 20 people (I forget the exact number), and any winnings would be distributed back to them accordingly. And all involved knew that, and entered into the arrangement voluntarily. So the amount that each person lost was only about $15 to $35, depending on the number of participants. You can "lose" more than that on movie night, for Pete's sake. Quit griping. And if you're offended, don't watch. It's that simple.

Matt, you are very welcome. It absolutely blows my mind how quickly some people squawk "I'm offended...!" by the slightest of things. I am a 37-year-old man who is disgusted with the state of the world nowadays, and I am not afraid to call people out on their stupidity! (Truth be told, I enjoy doing so.) Anytime I gamble, whether it is at a casino or with lottery tickets, I know full well that I stand to lose every cent I put at risk. If I get the majority back like your group did, I'm happy. If I break even, I'm thrilled. If I end up ahead, I'm over-the-moon ecstatic. But not everyone has that rational, realistic, or prepared an outlook, do they?

Like I've told AR Platinum, Whenever you see an 11 and 26 on the same card it's not a winner. I've been scratching for over 25yrs and that is the pattern I see.

I respect everyone's opinion but some people need to relax. I guarantee if he would have had a huge win people would be congratulating him. Most of the time you lose, but we scratchers are very aware of that! It's about that next ticket and the elusive BIG HIT that we keep on scratching. And Group sessions are even better, lowers the money each person spends and divides the win equally. 10 people spent 100 Got back 650 then each person lost 35 bucks which is way better than one person losing 350 by themself.

what i realized after doing all the math on these texas tickets is even though guaranteed payback is low on certain games like this and the 20 dollar Loteria and others. its not actually realistic. most rolls are gonna give way more than what is stated on these higher tickets. the loteria says 100 bucks guaranteed. but when you break it down its more than 300 per pack usually. and thats without the major winners even in the equation.

I'm glad I can live vicariously, because this is insane! $50 a ticket? It hurts me to lose on a $10 scratcher, considering the unmeasurable odds that the physical geographic limitations present. I am aware it's not out of his pocket. I'm just wondering what that dough could have done in a Mega or Powerball. Ney York's six digit Lotto gives you two plays for a dollar. It's fun though, to watch without it being my money.

Hey Fixin you make cool videos and seem like a good guy to me. Name is Bernie and I live in WI. I have been scratching for many years. At times I get hot runs and win a bunch of times in a row. Sometimes I couldn't win to save my life. As a person who has addictive tendencies, I don't even drink alcohol, I have to stay focused on a personal faith to help me manage compulsive behavior. Not pushing anything nor am I condemning the lottery. It is just that I saw there are almost always people who seem to be so miserable or self absorbed that they have to run down a guy like you. Just opinion. I will keep scratching and subscribed to your channel in hopes that I see you win another big one. Sorry this is long but I will add one more thing. I don't so much believe in luck personally but rather relative blessings. Relative to the need, ones intentions, and the will of God. Like I said I am not a religious nut but do have a deep personal faith. Have seen many miracles in my life but seldom the foxhole prayer be answered. Hope you and yours are blessed.

Buying books is a scam. If you wanna have any shot at profiting a book's worth of tickets, buy random tickets at random stores. I used to buy books a long time ago. I noticed, if you ain't see at least a 250 winner or a 500 winner, it's a losing book every time. That's how the lottery makes their money. You'll notice when it's all said and done, your payback is around 50 percent and they take the rest. Makes business sense to me.

They only way the lottery can profit is if the expected value of a winning ticket is less than what people are spending on them. (I am sure you understand this, I am just adding to what you said.) This means the player will, on average, lose. And we see here they will likely lose big. I wish my lotto-addicted mother understood this.
