I love the idea of showing the pantry before and after the challenge!

I think it will be interesting and also help me keep track as I am terrible at note taking. I shall do a tour at the end and splice in footage of the before so we can compare. I am looking forward to it and curious to see the results.

I’m loving your pantry. Thank you for sharing it.

Thank you so much for watching. As with most things, there are always spots that can improve, but I always know that it will be able to feed us, and every year, the gardens replenish it

You guys have done a great job! Next year I would like to see how many jars you have on the shelf and then at the end of the pantry challenge have a total of jars you went through. So say you write down 20 August stew and you have 20 squares you draw out and then x out as you go. And if you go through them you add what you can up again and add those squares to the count. Then at the end of the challenge you cans come back to us and give us totals like you do with the weights on the harvest. It is interesting for me how a family can go through so much food. It would help me also to get my stuff together with you.

We have actually been talking about this very thing. This year I have tracked everything we have taken out of the pantry since January 1st. I am hoping it will help with giving us a more accurate picture of what we need to out away.

So impressive! I can't imagine being able to grow carrots like that! They rarely do well in our area as they tend to split or else they don't bulk out but remain tiny little flimsy things. Yes, pricing is out of control right now.
@PantryLiving8 ай бұрын
Our carrots did very well this year and grew perfectly shaped and long,but they didn't last long. These ones were a bulk farm purchase. I am planning to plant a lot more this year.

Just found your channel. Your pantry looks like mine. Love that you grow cann & also buy a few needed items. Look forward to watching.

Glad to have you here, and thank you for following along. The pantry is always quite stocked and quite messy 😆. But somehow, I know where everything is.
@sharonsplace51469 ай бұрын
I would say you are well stocked. Loved seeing this tour.
@PantryLiving9 ай бұрын
We are ready to take on this challenge. To be honest, we are usually well stocked till May, then we start to see the home grown goods run out, but by then we are usually planning the garden and starting seeds to begin the process all over again.

You look so ready! I'm very interested in your popcorn flour. I've never heard of such a thing.
@PantryLiving9 ай бұрын
The popcorn flour came about after my mom saw it on sharktank, lol. There is very little info out there on it, so it is trial and error, but we are having fun trying new things.

Your pantry looks fantastic! You'll have no issues with the challenge. I'm doing it again this year for both months. I did it in 2021, and it went very well. I will be allowing myself a $15/week budget for some dairy and a little produce as needed. And like you I might pick up good sale items for backstock but not use during the challenge.
@PantryLiving9 ай бұрын
Thank you so much. I think we are good to go, although, I do think it will be hard to watch things dwindle down with the current prices. A $15 weekly budget sounds very realistic and similar to what we are thinking. Limiting myself to only watching the flyer from the store where I buy the milk will help keep me ion check, lol.

Im looking forward to doing it Jan and Feb too. I'm still buying dairy, fresh food but its summer here with no farm. Lol. Can't wait to see more of your channel.

Thank you so much for watching along. Even with the farm, there are still quite a few items that we need to purchase, and I don't like passing up good deals, lol. Hope your challenge goes well.

I think there will be no starving at your homestead 😁 it looks amazing.
@PantryLiving9 ай бұрын
We may potentially have a food shortage phobia 😆. But as you said,we shouldn't starve. I do think we will be good for the 2 months for sure, we just have to be creative and keep things interesting.

You have an Awesome pantry!! I am rooting you on, for the two months!! I don't have a youtube video account, but I am also participating. I will allow myself $15 a week for dairy. Houston, Texas

Best of luck in your pantry challenge. Dairy is tough. I know you can buy powdered, but it is not our preference, and we are spending the money either way. Keep us posted on how you do with your challenge, and thank you for watching along.

Big thank you! I am so looking forward to your canning videos. What is august stew? Thanks, from northern Ontario!
@PantryLiving9 ай бұрын
August Stew is a mixture of veggies that are typically harvested from the garden in August. I am going to have to do a stand-alone recipe video for this one as many people have asked about it.
