A winged super held the track record at Bristol at one point with the modern car. I've watched many races from infield turn 3. They are incredibly fast and stuck. Ordway's Clyde Booth car was always something to watch. Picked up throttle way before everyone else.

About three years ago I believe. I personally think this wingless version looks ridiculous. Of course, it would also be nice to see consistently full fields of supers, but they’ve expensed themselves nearly out of existence.

@@saragrant9749 no it very much is I just looked up Jonny Benson running them in Michigan and it looks like they are still on the old body style out their but they are also running wings I believe... they still throw the wings on top for classic weekend

Super modifieds! I have never heard of these cars until a month ago these are pretty awesome! These are like Wing spring cars on steroids and they got DRS too! Definitely needs more people watching this!

Love watching them weekly, just for the raw power and speed. I do wish it was more competitive. But the speed, plus that track announcer more than makes up for it!

I've wondered if they'd sprayed one with race fuel and lit it on fire, just to see what happens? I dunno, are they flame retardant? I wouldn't want to be smashed into one while it's melting.

@@mtpocketswoodenickle2637 That is a good point too . Launching extremely toxic smoke into the stands . They been doing that for years . If you moved the massivr bricks of styrofoam . You might not hit the wall . 😃✌️

These supermods used to be the deadliest class because the chassis are so stiff. Safety features were homologated into the supermod specs about the time the foam wall inserts were coming available. The car changes and the foam have saved a lot of lives.
