Here are the reasons why the Boston Celtics' 2024 playoff run to the Finals shouldn't count: 1. In the first round, the Celtics defeated an injured Miami Heat team that was without Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kevin Love, and Josh Richardson, who is Miami's best perimeter defender and bench scorer. 2. In the second round against the Cleveland Cavaliers, they defeated an injured Cleveland team that was without their best player, superstar Donovan Mitchell, who missed games three, four, and five. Also missing was Cleveland's center, Jarrett Allen, who was their best defender in the paint, shot blocker, and rebounder. 3. Finally, the Celtics defeated an injured Indiana Pacers team that was without their two best players, Tyrese Haliburton, who missed games three and four, and Bennedict Mathurin, who is their best scorer besides Haliburton and Siakam, who was also out for the series. The 2024 Celtics arguably had the easiest playoff run to the Finals in NBA history since Michael Jordan's weak competition in the 1990s in the weak Eastern Conference with the Bulls' superteam. The 2024 Celtics will likely be remembered as the 2024 "Mickey Mouse" hospital fluke champions.
@HKISFOO5 ай бұрын
Another year, another boring Finals. I would never have thought I would see Finals more boring than last year's Finals, Denver versus Miami. Ever since the 2021 season, NBA teams that have won titles have won because they were the healthiest team, not because they were the best team. The NBA now, in this era, is about which team stays the healthiest, not which team is the best. And I understand that it's not a team's fault that other teams cannot stay healthy, but I blame Adam Silver for starting the 2020-21 season early and giving teams only 2 months of rest in the off-season after the Lakers won the title in 2020. Ever since that off-season tons of NBA stars can't stay healthy. The last real title was in 2020 when the Lakers won.That was the only year in the 2020s era that a team has won defined by who is the best team in the league. And yes, Boston Celtics had the best record in the regular season this year, but in the playoffs, they wouldn't have won if every team inbthe East was healthy. If the Miami Heat had been healthy in the first round against the Boston Celtics, the Miami Heat would have beaten the Celtics in the first round in seven. Jimmy Butler has always beaten the Miami Heat, and the Celtics got lucky. They won because other teams were injured. Congratulations on the Mickey Mouse title, hospital fake club title. I hope they enjoy this fake title, but it won't count as a real title. Just remember that. This won't count as a real title. I want everyone, when the Celtics win, to give them the same treatment that you all gave to the Lakers in 2020 when they won the title. I want you all to give them the same treatment, but worse. Have a good night. Enjoy this fake title. Nobody is going to remember it or recognize it.

D White didn't have an incredible statistical game but he's in the middle of like half of these highlights. His ability to be in the perfect spot and make the right play in 4Qs has been one of the unsung parts of their whole season and this playoff run in particular.

ESPN again…. The story is the CELTICS WINNING. Not the fouls.
@danielthompson39285 ай бұрын
Right. Dallas beat Tatum like he was caught slippin’ down a dark alley. Yet we are talking about these GOOD calls that they felt should have been let go. Officiating has been one-way the entire series. The Celtics beat the Mavs and the refs this series.
@calmlittlebuddy37215 ай бұрын
Agreed. But even IF that was a bad call, even if the Celtics got favorable fouls calls and the poor poor Mavs were the victims of bad officiating… the story still is the Celtics going up 3-0 and the Js scoring 30 a piece. We all know if Dallas Stars did that and won we’d be watching an ESPN special 30 for 30 “Dallas Mavericks: The Improbable Wim”.

If they’re not scoring they provide nothing else while Tatum clamps 1 to 5 and rebounds like a 7 footer. Passing is elite and screens are best in the league!
