I think some truth in that...not sure of any case where you were robbed..I didn't see that but plenty of openings that portugal didn't quite take. Georgia played the perfect game plan, over performed and had one of the best goalkeeping performance of the tournament, but with a clinical Portugal earlier the game could have been different. Having said that Georgia wasted 3 or 4 quality chances to add more goals on the break too. However some of Portugal's play was still at a very good level, so nothing to panic about.

Normally you'd be right. But although I've seen many sources claiming that the head to head result is the number 1 tie breaker ... it's not. You know how I can tell ? Because my national team (Romania) finished first in group E, ahead of Belgium. Romania and Belgium had 4 points, same goal difference (+1), but Belgium won against Romania 2-0. If the head to head result was the deciding factor, Belgium would be ahead of Romania, but that's not the case. So it seems the actual tie-breakers are: 1) Overall goal difference. 2) Higher number of goals scored. So Romania finished ahead of Belgium because of the second criteria. Romania scored 4, conceded 3. Belgium scored 2, conceded 1.

I am a fan of Ronaldo, but it has to be said, it was so embarrassing seeing his behaviour today. He was going at the referee for a while, prior to the shirt pull. Then he got himself booked stupidly. He still kept going at the ref and acting like a child. With this behaviour, he could have very well gotten a second yellow, and if he is this frustrated in the next game, a second yellow rules him out and he misses a match. Luckily it gets cancelled out after Quarter Finals. It didn't end there, he raged on the touchline with a tantrum. They were already through, the result did not put them at risk of being eliminated. There was no reason to be such a spoiled brat about it. This worries me, because if this is the attitude he will have in the other rounds, it's not going to bode well for Portugal.

The calls did go against them, but as the Captain, in a match of little significance, with 8 changes to the squad, Cristiano was very childish and got himself booked. He kept going at the ref and is quite lucky he didn't get another. Cannot pass to Ronaldo? He had a few header chances in the first two games, got a nice ball for an assist in the second and got a really nice pass vs Georgia which forced a save. He did get chances. In the last game, they clearly had an issue playing him in, but it was also a tight game and Georgia were very solid at the back. They lacked creativity everywhere, were poor on crosses, but a good takeaway is they forced like 4 top saves (including Ronaldo), so yeah... we got to stop raging at the team.

Ronaldo was always mainly good against easy opponents. He rarely made a difference in big games - especially in the national team. With the exception of 2016. I only ever remember him whining and complaining when playing for Portugal. Yesterday was no different. He is now old and plays in a joke league. Portugal can go far, but he is not helping.

How can we expect Ronaldo to be brilliant without service from the midfield or the wings. The Portuguese team only passes the ball from right to left and this has been the story of the tournament. To the panel.. this is why problems start. You can't have and maintain a bias against Ronaldo. In times passed, you may have been correct that Ronaldo was upset to come off, but he wasn't upset about that, it was frustration from the game and not getting the obvious penalty. He is also the captain and has freedom to speak and was given a yellow. I think any player, captain, of any age would be upset.

Been an awful tournament so far . This whole 3rd place finishers get into knockout rounds really waters it down and increases the risk of some shady match fixing . That being said Georgia are a breath of fresh air . Most entertaining game I’ve watched so far was Georgia vs turkey
