I watched Richarlison on Spurs' pre-season tour and he was missing open goals even in the open training sessions. At one point even the local fans were laughing because they couldn't believe that he was a professional Spurs striker. He simply cannot finish. I would be amazed if he's still at Spurs this time next year.

Biss and bentancur are interchangeable, having a midfield partner like sarr is key. He just provides so much energy in the midfield. I also think madders, lolo and kulu are interchangeable at CAM without the fluidity of angeball dropping. Johnson has to stay on right he is like kulu on the right when he's at LW always cutting inside.

Spurs have been much more enjoyable to watch this season over past seasons, but there have been several games, like this one, where we were not particularly fun to watch. After a great run of form Richarlison had a pretty bad day on the pitch that was thankfully compensated by Porro's wonderful goal. We need to find a way to make it through this month while Son and the others are missing for the Asia Cup. I will end though with a positive thought ... while we were not great today we didn't lose and in fact came away with 3 points -- in previous years we would have come away with 1 point or nothing! The great teams have bad games that the still manage to win and this is a huge improvement over previous seasons!

Spurs are the best team in Europe and they aren't even at full strength. They have the best defense over Real Madrid, Bayern, Man C, Liverpool and are dynamic in attack, At full strength, they will win the PL and the FA Cup.

Perhaps that's why Brazil is not #1 anymore. Let's be reasonable: Richy is just an average footballer. He's just too slow and clumsy to be anything more than that. Son shouldn't have to coach him at literally every game, constantly giving him pointers and advice on positioning.

Tottenham under Ange Postecoglu have done a very good job this season and even after losing their talisman last summer, the impact that this manager has had on this team has been so extraordinary. Even in an injury crisis and he’s playing so many players out of their regular position, they’re in a very good position to make the top 4 they’re doing well in the Premier League and even when they don’t get the right result, you can actually see an identity in this team. This team has the potential to get better when everyone is fit and Ange Postecoglu gets the right players that he wants and believes they’re the best fit for his system and a goalscorer like someone for example like Serhou Guirassy is a striker that they need and will go after as that’ll elevate the team to even greater heights without a goalscorer despite not having a player of Harry Kane’s caliber, they’re doing great. I believe in his project and even if they’ll still win no trophies because no matter how well they play they don’t win anything, they have a team set up for success they have a manager who has his vision set and players doing their roles and has improved almost everyone on this team. The fringe players are also doing well and once they sign a center back a striker or maybe a backup keeper, he’ll have a stronger squad and what he has done with the players he has at his disposal for Tottenham so far he’s been manager of the season even though Unai Emery has his Aston Villa team in the title race.

It’s true, rival fans don’t want to admit we are in a title race, we clearly are and without this extreme bad luck of injuries we would be challenging for the title, we still can because of the gap from 5th to 1st but I don’t see it happening this soon, we need a lot of luck for that to happen, but we are in a good position for top 4

@@LynxoneYT I think Tottenham can make the top 4 when they have everyone healthy and the fact that without injuries there’s a feeling that they would still be in the title race it tells you just how unbelievable of a job Ange Postecoglu is doing with this team and he’s exceeded expectations in his debut season in the Premier League. It’s anyone’s title in the Premier League right now it’s so open and Tottenham are a couple of points off the top and I agree that top 4 is a more realistic finish for them.

Agreed. The pundits are awfully finicky with Richy. Ever since his recovery from surgery, he looks much more lively. But we can't seriously expect him to score in every game. Richy isn't as versatile as other # 9's, but he certainly can score and has shown that lately.

They say that because they are not used to a nonclinical scorer like Richy with Son in the team. Son with that many clear chances always turn them into goals, but richy is an average striker like many others in the league.

Yes it wasnt pretty tonight. They are right. We didnt play well. But this is the kind of game that in recent years we would have lost in and would have blown another chance of silverware. But we got through it today and we kept on going and i think a lot of people are under-estimating us this second half of the season. We are starting to get players back and the fact that we are only 3 points off the top and into the next round of the FA Cup with all the injuries we have had shows just how good we are going to be when our strongest team is clicking again

4:02 Son has a better winning percentage than Kane when they play without each other. So, Son did step up. But Richy is not that guy. All of these Spurs supporters are delusional to think Richy is actually a good footballer. Rich is just average. If he was some Korean guy, he'd be playing in the K League and not a single European club would look at him. He's just too slow and clumsy to be a quality #9.

In retrospect, it’s obvious that Richarlison’s groin injury was holding him back a lot. Although he didn’t score today, he has looked a lot better this season. Especially after coming back from his groin surgery.

I agree, today was an ugly showing but 5 goals in 7 starts since that surgery is good enough. However, I think moving him out wide could be a potential option, with Brennan Johnson playing at the 9 like he does in the welsh national team. It’s painfully clear than Johnson isn’t comfortable on the left. One way or another, Brennan Kulu and Richy need to step up because they are our best attackers until son returns

Steve Nicol is either so desperately ignorant or willfully malicious toward Spurs. Too busy serving fried Mars bars to Big Burley to notice that Richarlison has shown remarkable improvement since having minor surgery to fix a groin injury. Against Burnley, it would have been tough for even Harry Kane since the Clarets were sitting deep, operating with a backline of 5 or 6 players. But let's not let the facts get in the way of the routine cheapshots.

I'm not really worried about this game or this season in general. Spurs are going to get bodies in the coming 2-3 windows. Only then will they reach the level they would like to because Johnson is not a title challenging side 1st team player.
