My husband isn't an 8 y/o girl and he ride the one at DCA and enjoys it. He is usually the one that suggests we ride it. But then, he appreciates all of the detail and work that went into developing it and we love pretty much all the dark rides.

I usually like faster paced rides but this ride was just amazing! I love the Little Mermaid so much and I was sooo excited when I heard they were actually making the ride!! I was there about 2 weeks ago and I was just so amazed by everything! The queue and the actual ride! I grew up with The Little Mermaid and this ride nearly brought me to tears! It was just so amazing. I know some people weren't really impressed by it. But I was just speechless when I got off it!

LOOVED THIS RIDE! The Little Mermaid has always been my favorite movie & I was ecstatic that Ariel finally got her own castle & ride! The part with Scuttle & the crabs in the queue wasn't working- so I'm glad to find a video to show what it was doing! The robotics are amazing! When I went on this ride it broke down twice. My sister didnt mind though because the second time it broke it was at the 'poor unfortunate souls bit' which is her favourite. I really liked this ride and I remember when we lining up and the music was playing I danced along to it, not paying attention to who was watching.

Yesterday I went to the Magic Kingdom and at night we got to see a "Dress Rehearsal" of the new Fantasyland. We got to ride this, do Enchanted Tales with Belle, and look at the Be Our Guest dining area. It was worth all the time I spent looking at it over the fence dreaming about how awesome it would be. (Hint: If you go to the park within the next few months, sometimes they'll be doing dress rehearsals at night. If you just act like you know what you're doing and walk right in, you'll be fine)

I purposely watched this video to see how similar it is to the California ride, and basically every detail is the exact same. I kinda wish that the line for the ride in California was as cool as this one though but at least here it's always a walk on ride, you never have to wait no matter how crowded the park is, I'm a Disneyland and California Adventure regular since my Dad works there, so I know my stuff.

It's just opened for a dress rehearsal right now. Disney can close all of this area anytime they'd like right now. Storybook Circus is all open right now, however the Enchanted Forest (this area) officially opens on December 6

Star Tours is one of my favorite rides ever and i'm not alone. Disney teamed up with Lucas for SW and IJ because in they both had the same high standards for what they did. I was leery of the Avatar thing but simply because despite it's phenominal success, I personally didn't like getting preached at by a big budget remake of "Ferngully". I'd love to see AK use the space to finally create "The Beastly Kingdom" from the park's original design.

Thanks for sharing this, we was there 3 yrs ago and backed out the line bec the walk through was so long and long line plus super hot! we really wasnt sure what was going on and thought it was just boring walk through, didnt know it was ride. bummer wish we was more patient now but over all it was awesome experience. I actually was terrified to go on Snow White's Scary Adventures as a child and sadly missed my opportunity to ride it. But now, 18 years old, I'm still IN LOVE with the simple childish aspect of many of the Disney rides. Keep in mind, this is Disney World we're talking about, they want to show off their movies and create joy for kids and nostalgia for older people. By the way, where did you ever hear that Universal took 50% of Disney's business? In 2010, Disney's overall attendance did slip by about 1% which was the year TWWOHP opened. That year IOA's business increased by about 30%. In 2011, Disney increased business in all parks by about 1.5% except Epcot which was flat. IOA increased business by about 29% that year. However percentages don't tell the true story. In numbers, MK alone did more business that both Uni FL parks combined both years.

Oh agreed! This attraction doesn't need fastpass, but Disney has been testing out a new fastpass system across WDW that will be used at every attraction and show across the property. It's way more efficient than the current fastpass system.

I wonder why they created an extended queue. Due to the vehicle system the attraction never has a wait longer than 15 minutes at California Adventure. Most guests will just walk by the details of this great queue.

Not to mention that doing it out in the open would cause too much distraction; there's too many things to look at in the open area, so attention would be drawn off the attraction itself. That's one of the main reasons why these rides are not only done in darkness, but in a small area. :)

This ride seems great, but it seems like they brushed over the "killing Ursula" scene for fear of frightening children... although I agree it could scare some small kids (Such as Snow White's Scary Adventures did when it showed the Evil Witch's death") This just came across as a rushed ending, cheaply done even... they could have at least done more than a cardboard cutout of Ursula spinning away. I'll be riding this myself for the first time on Saturday, so I'll save all other opinions until then. This ride looks amazing, otherwise.

I think the extended queue is because you know Disney wanted to in my opinion compete with Universal Orlando's extensively themed Harry Potter rides, so the Disney Princesses very popular with kids and the fairy tale movies in fantasyland got a reboot, my only complaint is that Snow White does not have her own proper update with modern audio animatronics the irony is that Splash Mountain is based on Song of the South an obscure movie and Snow White the first movie does not have a proper ride.

I do wish that they changed the ride up a bit from the DCA version. They really REALLY could've added the climax where you stroll past a raging sea and gigantic Ursula. That would have made this ride 10x more perfect. Overall, I wanna go here for spring break :D
