Full Route Visual~270: Mitcham - Putney Bridge Station (LX06 EAK)(WVL247)

So, I wanted to do two routes, and I was all the way up in Belmont, and I decided not to go all the way back to Elephant & Castle to do the 136, so I took the S1 back to Mitcham and did the 270 instead.
London Bus Route 270 is Operated By GAL: London General at Merton (AL) between Mitcham & Putney Bridge via Tooting, Earlsfield & Wandsworth.

270's a decent route, covers major areas within a quick route like Tooting, Earlsfield and Wandsworth. Would be better if it was extended to either Sutton or Fulham.

this route should be extended to belmont to replace the 280 then they should combine the running numbers.

wclifton968 that would make sense, since there are already too many routes serving between tooting and Mitcham, which makes the 280 only useful between Mitcham and Belmont.

yup plus at one point the 280 never ran on sundays, it was covered by the 44 I think.....

you say that but aren't express routes like the X26 too far for the driver? drivers should get used to long routes like coach drivers driving their coach from Victoria to somewhere in Poland or when drivers from TGM drove the 726 from Bromley to Windsor castle....

wclifton968 the N44 is Sutton- Aldwych. But the 270 should be extended to Belmont and further up to Hammersmith, it’d be useful as there is no route that serves Tooting, Mitcham, Merton and Belmont towards Hammersmith. So if you were to go to Hammersmith from Tooting, you’d have to change at Wandsworth for the 485 or 220.
