Full Route Visual | Arriva Leicester 50 - Leicester to Narborough | 4502 (YX16 OJB)

So much better than the old one I think.
Another successful re-film in the form of the 50 from Leicester Haymarket (it hasn't been pedestrianised yet despite talks for the past 4 years) to Narborough via Highcross, West Bridge, West End, Rowley Fields, Braunstone, Fosse Park and Enderby.
It's run by Arriva at Wigston every 20 minutes, combining 10 with the 51 down Narborough Road using 16-plate ADL E400 MMCs with stop-start technology but Volvo B9TLs are just as common nowadays since they started sending the unbranded examples on the 31/31A last summer.
This route was previously based at Southgates until it closed in July 2009, after which, allocation transferred to Wigston.
The bus unfortunately started rattling upon arrival in Narborough so the return is still on the re-film list, especially after finding out that the diversion was only on for 3 days (something I could have easily avoided had I just stuck with my original plan and gone to Narborough instead of Fleckney the day I did that). It's not alone, an 84 one that needed re-doing came out with no improvements as I kept thinking the camera had moved down so it kept moving up and I got the horrid (for filming visuals on a phone that picks up every bump and rattle) 4512. I will return, just not for a while.

I may go and re-film the 29 on Friday. I wasn't sure what was happening song-wise before but this confirms I will use different songs (maybe keep the first 3).

Awesome!! Quite like the 50 - always thought it was fairly interesting. And it's weird for me to see Narborough Road so quiet because the only time I've been up it was in the car at rush hour... 😂

I would but since it doesn’t serve Rowley Fields anymore, it only differs from the 50 by two roads and the 104 and 153 already cover them.

@@leicestertravels4705 Am not up to date with the changes on the 51 to be honest. I know there was a variation that diverted via Rowley Fields (replacing the 52/62 Fox Cub route). But it also did the turn around to BXRs via Meadwell Road and Hinckley Road. That was after BXRs became a junction with traffic lights. Used the 153 (previously 123) a lot as I used to attend Bosworth College.

They cut out Rowley Fields from the route due to low numbers in April 2017. It’s actually based at Wigston now as it interworks with this route.

Personally I thought Thurmaston was weirder. At first I found it weird that the 104’s still based there but of course, it used to go past it before it was split and that end became the 5 in November 2003. The 158’s a weird one to be there now since as of last year, Hinckley’s the outstation for Wigston now.
