I LOVE your red manicure videos. So satisfying and soothing! I'm on a constant hunt for the perfect red for my warm skin tone. I have a couple from Londontown Lakur that are quite good and a couple Zoya that I like. Great video!!!

Beautiful! How do I convince my salon owner to let me do cuticle prep with a drill? I feel like clients would be freaked out if I started to do this prep. I think it's so good and fast tho!
@TheSalonLife2 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thank you for your comment! Efile should never be used for speed but for the precision:) My clients are never freaked out. Maybe because I use the machine on such low speed that you can't even hear its on and when I have first time client I show them how gentle the diamond bit is. You do need a lot of practice to develop skill and be gentle with this method.

I like your method of polish removal because it not only works, but I think it is more frugal as well. I now cut my cotton rounds in quarters and I think that it uses less acetone overall. I think acetone used to be a lot cheaper than it is now, so I appreciate that savings. Have you ever done a video on how to clean or sanitize your metal files without damaging them?
@TheSalonLife2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the price of acetone totally went up. Also you can find thinner rounds or split fluffy ones into 2 flakes. It works too and it takes less acetone. I do that when I'm soaking off gel polish because I wrap the nails in foil so the acetone does not evaporate

May I ask these small papers? what does it contain and removes nail polish so easy? Thank you
@TheSalonLife2 жыл бұрын
They are make up remover pads. I use 1 pump of acetone and leave it on the nail for 1-2 minutes to give it time to work. And then just push down and away from the nail.

Back when I worked for a non-profit, one that relied heavily on donations from quite wealthy patrons, red was my go-to polish when I absolutely had to mani to impress to seal a deal. Those patrons tended to be on the conservative side as far as grooming, so polishcolors like yellow, blue, green and purple were out out out. No neons. No shimmers, metallics, glitter and so on. Black, grey and white were too stark. Nudes didn't work with my skin tone or my wardrobe. If I'd been able to wear orange, which I'm not, it would have had to be on the muted side, and that was definitely even more of a no for me. I needed to exhibit sophistication and assertiveness, and pink was too cute and wimpy for that. I was left with red nail polish for nearly every face-to-face patron interaction, because a good manicure in an exquisite true red (or as close to it as possible for one's coloring) is always the height of elegance.

No Brasil essa unha seria feito diferente seria tirada a cutícula a não ser se a cliente não quisesse
@TheSalonLife2 жыл бұрын
Yes, in Brasil manicures are done differently, I've seen. I did remove cuticle but I did not cut living skin. I explain that in the video. Cuticle (dead tissue) and living skin (skin fold/proximal nail fold) are often confused. Please check out this article where it's explained in detail: Where is the CUTICLE? by Doug Schoon article: bit.ly/3q5PgQH
