This wonderful Talk with Wayne Liquorman took place on the occasion of his 61st birthday. The basic elements of the Living Teaching of Advaita were discussed with Wayne's signature good humor and clarity. Some very sweet silence too! Courtesy of Advaita Fellowship --- advaita.org

Wayne was actually addicted to alcohol and cocaine for many years; his mysteriously sudden loss of desire to use these substances was what drove him to 'spiritual' seeking. Eventually and in relatively short time, he met Ramesh Balsekar and his search ended. Wayne's book "Acceptance Of What Is" and the book of poems under pseudonym "Ram Tzu" are absolute masterworks of modern literature.

Love those light switches; they are accessible, cut to the chase and aren't pretentious- just like Wayne!

I can't relate even slightly to the idea that Wayne doesn't express great love and kindness; the way he follows what people say, as if he is hanging on their every word, to me shows tremendous compassion. He just doesn't simply indulge that side of one's expressiveness that may be superfluous and yet considered socially acceptable conversation in society. And this is about losing; not gaining.

I think its best to act as though you have free will and try to fit yourself into the machinery of society in a way that's sustainable and healthy. If a sense of free will dissapears during ones spiritual inquiry then so be it.

Hi, Wayne! I was reminded of something from the Gita about "free will" I thought might be a positive unique idea; namely, "Your very nature will make you do those very things that you in your ignorance would seek to avoid." Ramakrishna gave an observation about free will; namely, it amounts to about the same thing as a cow on a tether. And one more, from me, "what choices do we have with the choices that we got?" In any event, "NAMASTE, ALOHA, TOGETHER." MAny Blessings, Stuarto M.

Labels or not, in the human experience; in our world of relativity, there are those who exhibit these traits more or less than others.

The body-mind organism called "Wayne" does what it must do. "Love," "kindness," "compassion" are just labels that other BMOs have attached.

ANYTHING can happen in the manifest universe? I think there exists an underlying consistency, described by science. Yes, it is true that amendments and new observations, laws, and theories constantly occur as part of physics. But this only means that our knowledge of the laws of nature is limited, not that the laws themselves are limited or unreliable. Our knowledge of sciences gets better (more accurate and descriptive) with time. But consistency itself appears to be absolute.

I can understand not thinking this gives some clear ideas but I don't see that Wayne looks like he's in pain, nor that he doesn't seem loving, whatever that means. But gurus do not always seem loving! They live the moment. Peace is the backdrop.

and, of course, there are no other BMOs, only what seems to be such.

where does the sense of separation come from (at roughly the age of 2 years old for all humans)? and.. why would a false sense arise in the Self? does the ocean "want" the waves to believe that they are separate from it?

Amir G. Yes for the world to continue!! And I once said then the source is the "fucker*" who does that to us but Ramesh Balsekar gave the answer THE ONLY CLEAR CUT ANSWER I FOUND READING AND WATCHING 1000000s of articles, videos and spiritual theories! He Said, "The Source as it is a potential throbbing energy/Shiva/Unmanifest was "FORCED" To create the world that is called Kinetic Energy/Shakti of which the very nature is "DUALISTIC""!!!! That is "Happiness and Pleasure and So On....! So no one can blame anybody! This is the shit we exist in so if we are supposed to get free well will....! If not, then Eat Pasta until then....!

Wow. I truly apologize. I now comprehend the error of my fast, irrational, even arrogant judgement. I only hope I may stumble clumsily upon another chance and not do away with it like wrapping paper discarded by an ungrateful child. Farewell, mysterious, wise and fair stranger.
