You should post more videos, you've actually helped a learning cable tech avoid generating useless OSP work orders!

I had a similar problem yesterday. I had a suck out on the high frequencies, we have a program called spectra that can find suck outs. It tracked me to a line splitter, all 4 screws were unscrewed to the thread with the splitter slightly ajar. I pushed the splitter to reseat it and the suck out cleared.

If you call that a "suck out", what do yo call it when the center conductor of a cable pulls out due to excessive hot and cold temperatures while giving the outside appearance that the connection is good? Also, is that a COX system? I was just wondering since they seem to be the only ones who do not use PPC all the way.
@MisterModder1233 жыл бұрын
Also a suckout. I see it a lot on undergrounds that are spliced and don't have a loop to account for expansion contraction.

why is there a big space in the spectrum ?what does the red area mean ? because after you said its gone there is still red area
@SaintGuardian3 жыл бұрын
Those red lines at the end are just what that OnX meter shows when you pull the jumper out while its still scanning cause the meter thinks the signal died. there is a delay before it rescans that channel after plugging it back in and clears the no signal fault. the big empty space is just their plant design. the whole spectrum doesnt have to be full of channels. looks like they cleared out a section big enough to put in a OFDM carrier in the future.

does anyone know how to remote into it so you can leave in a hub and look at spectrum on android phone, i hear people saying it can be done but never seen anyone actually do it, talk is cheap
@harryjohnson6154 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's a year old but someone might find it useful. Bluetooth connection and download the Viavi app for android
@stringtiger20024 жыл бұрын
@@harryjohnson615 I figured it out already I actually posted a video on LinkedIn I'll probably post it on KZbin it's actually very easy but you do have to have your meter updated and you don't do it with the app that they talked about on The View hobby site this is an actual leave the meter at the head end or wherever plugged into a router and you can go anywhere in the system you could even be in another town and look at it you could be on vacation and remotely look at that meter you just have to have an app on your Android device
@harryjohnson6154 жыл бұрын
@@stringtiger2002 Cool, thanks for the heads up on the app you're talking about. I wonder if it's a licensed option too, worth mentioning that I'm in the UK so the options might be different. That remote access would be nice though 😁
