This is an interesting departure from the usual Chinese dramas. Typically it's some poor doormat of a woman who is being cheated on, instead of a simple man. He has to take a lot of verbal abuse throughout all this, but at least he isn't being beaten, robbed, tortured, kidnapped, drugged, and thrown out of the house the way most of the female leads are! I guess the writers are kinder to men in their stories. They make the women all evil and scheming, of course, since they are sexist women-haters.
