I've always liked the chip damage that hail provided. It felt more like a sandstorm counterpart. If snow and hail were just combined into one weather (1.5 defense boost to ice types on top of chip damage), then I would've actually praised it.

The japanese names were Eiji, Keisuke and Jin. Snow is better than Hail, but since Sandstorm buffs the SpDef of Rock Types and does damage as well, I expected Snow/Hail to do both as well.

Snow enables Aurora veil, so I guess that's the tradeoff. Plus you can have non ice types on your team and not worry about chip damage.

As a person of the state of Maine in the U.S. all I have to say about snow here is that it is indeed very pretty to look at especially under a well lit moon, but is quite a pain to shovel off, and don't get me started about when the weather decides to make a mixed shower with freezing rain. But again, the sight of snow is rather beautiful.

The Escui with its Normal tera gem being held by its single hair is indeed one of the funniest and best thing I've seen in Pokemon 😂 PS. Haven't seen snow too as someone who lives in a tropical country and can't stand the cold. Hope you get a chance to see snow in the future 😉

I like snow over hail. Not only mechanics wise is it way better than hail, but visually, it's much better in my opinion. When I was doing the battle with Director Clavell and he sent out his Abomasnow I was like "This actually looks pretty nice." I fought him at night, so the snow with his music and the light's from the school really set the scene.

The new introduction of defence buff is good for ice type, but I don’t know why they can’t just make it like sandstorm which both the residue damage and defence buff occurs It’s not that ice type are way more broken than rock type or viable defensively on stall teams

The problem here is that ice rarely benefits the Pokémon themselves. One can easily just run Ice Beam or Ice Spinner as a coverage move and get all of the benefits of ice's offensive strength. Ice-type Pokémon on the other hand have to suffer their defensive flaws. It isn't as big of an issue on Pokémon like Weavile, but for Pokémon like Avalugg? It's a pretty big killer. Avalugg could easily have Zamazenta's typing and be so much better. That's the issue with ice.

I'm gonna miss hails chip damage, I had to use a Vanilluxe in sword to hack through the hail filled area, and when I tried using it in showdown, I was surprised that no chip damage occured. RIP

In my friend group we actually have our own league with a champion, elite 4, and gym leaders. I was one of the last to join and they needed someone to be the ice type leader since no one before wanted to. Some of my favorites are ice types, Alolan Ninetails/Sandslash, Glaceon, Auorus, so I agreed. My team was Auorus, Weavile, both Alolan forms, Arctozolt, and my ace Glaceon. I have lost a good number of times but I can say that I have convinced some of them through battle that ice types are not to be slept on.
