I guarantee the best two-way/defensive forwards can skate backwards really well. Especially two-way centers that can act as basically another d-man at times.

… am I wrong? Or Wasn’t that part of the skill competition… to skate backwards during that part. I guess you can’t tell Connor to do it over or disqualify him, however, Quinn was one of the few that kept his body facing the same direction for that whole area!!!

Bro, nobody likes the all star game. They have to give a 1 million dollar cash prize to guys making 8+ each year and you can tell they still don’t care that much. Kuch is the most obvious tho, it’s a terrible way of displaying skill tho. Draisaitl can’t do the accuracy challenge to save his life but still has one of the most lethal shots in game

that middle backward skaing part they should have just made a ruling early on.. do they skate backwards the entire way from pylon to pylon? i saw guys turning sideways well before even passing the pylon.. the only one that did it properly was Quinn Hughes..

How long were the sticks they were using ? To take away the advantage the taller players have . They should have to use the same stick . Or the items on the ice they maneuver through are placed farther for the tall long stick guys .

Quinn, the only one that kept his body square and skated backwards… the others should have had deductions or redos… if Quinn had been able to turn and skated forward like Connor it would have been very close or better than Connors time!

Agreed and it's not like this was just for fun in the past, legit competition with money on the line, mcdavid also grazed a puck at the start when he was stick handling. Essentially mcdavid bent the rules in every competition lol, hit pylon, hit a puck, didn't skate backwards through the full section, also was standing closer than anyone during the accuracy shooting last year

That's the whole point. 12 players compete to win 1 million dollars. Not exactly sure how the selection process works but yeah. I think there's 7 or 8 rounds? After the 6th round only the top 6 players make it through to play for the final round. Each player gets to participate in 4 rounds I believe?
