Depends. The newer and less harmfull option is over the mothers blood which contains a bit of the childs DNA while pregnancy. Otherwise by extracting amniotic fluid also per needle, what can harm the unborn. Its also illegal (in germany) exept if u do it after abuse/rape of a minor or equal crime.
