Story 1: I don't think that mother-daughter relationship will ever be the same, even under the best of circumstances. It would be difficult for me not to exact unending punishment for a while, like until daughter is out of the house. I probably wouldn't be that harsh, but daughter would have some pretty harsh lessons to learn. Story 2: basically abusive female egg donor (she's not a mom in any sense of the word except as one proffered). But "Mom's are perfect and would always be the better caregivers". Blind gender preference. Reverse genders, and daughter would never be allowed visitation with Dad. But men and women are equal under the law.

What happened to the father of the disabled half sister? Also, is she eligible for government assistance for a disabled child?

Those poor children! All of them! OP's wife and SIL for the trauma and abuse they suffered. OP and her half sister for their shitty mom. OP deserves a happy life, and I hope she gets that. I hope her sister finds someone who can care for her. She deserves love too. She did nothing wrong and deserves not blame for what happened to her sister. That all falls on the most and AP

I'm sorry but you're way too hard on your daughter in the first story. Look she sounded pretty remorseful But the fact that you never actually described it in pure detail is one deciding factor. The other thing is she 16 how many 16-year-olds do you know that are actually smart and think things out. I'm not saying that she's right but I am saying that she already understands and you'll need to forgive her. And if nobody can understand that then you all must not actually have kids Mistakes are allowed to happen
