When I finally realized that my now ex-wife no longer viewed me as her husband, I set about subtlely convincing her that she could financially live without me. I started by putting all of her debt in my name and let her hang on to more of her earnings than previously. Once she saw the possibilities of being financially comfortable without me, I asked her to reconcile and treat me like her husband (coitus). That was a bridge too far for her. She asked for a divorce! What she didn't realize was that all marital assets AND debts were to be shared EQUALLY. It didn't matter whose name they were in. She didn't count on taking on half the debt that was in my name. She knew that I had dupped her by then the die had been cast and there was no undoing the divorce proceedings. I retired soon after the divorce was finalized and have the same spending cash that I did while I worked. She'll have to work at her job that she hates for another 10 years!!! I'm a retired multi-millionaire and she is in debt. FTB!!!

LOL.. thats how bad the ex was... LOL oh, she made over 3x what he was making, not so much after the company started to garnish her pay and ensure the kids got the court ordered support she was refusing to pay knowing oregon only goes after dead beat dads... moms are fine to not pay ever... her company has a clause in their contracts that had she read the thing before signing it she may have made better life choices... around 2/3 of her pay was going directly to him and after she got arrested for trying to attack his future(current)wife.. yeah.. the company moved her into a condo they owned 2 blocks from work, so she could work with he ankle bracelet on....most clients apparently found it amusing, they liked dealing with her on contracts but disliked her personally... lizard people are sort of creepy..

True, but it is also how they act when they are just fed up with their current life. Friendzoning husbands is very common especially after kids. The last thing they want is intimacy. However, it is exactly what they need to get thru their funk. Cheating often happens especially if she is super hot. Average looking wives tend to just become roommates, knowing full well they can't make it on their own. I swear sometimes wives would be willing to.sleep.with al.ost any man on earth other than their husband. She said she has always had a policy of never sleeping with friends, but I bet she would sleep with a complete stranger. At least he got her to MC. I think marriage is like a growing organism. It needs nurture. It takes work. It takes attention it takes time and you gotta be intentional about making time for your partner. Not just your partner, but also yourself. Because if you're not happy with yourself, nobody else can make you happy. They can do nice things for you and it puts a Band-Aid on it, but in all reality, when you are taking care of yourself, it's a much different life. You then become better for not only yourself but your partner and your children.

The only way to save these kinds of dead bedroom marriage is to work on yourself, get in good physical shape, get more social, get promotions at work. It's sad to say but yeah, when she feels that other women are interested in you, a competition anxiety kicks in and she starts seeing you like a desirable man again. My ex wanted to "talk to me" as well. She said our relationship was making her "unhappy". So I asked her about the guy she was chasing after on-line. She didn't think I knew about them. She confessed about it, and I handed her papers at the end of the week telling her, "This isn't a jail cell, you can walk out the door anytime, but I'm not going to ever let you back in." I filed on our fourth wedding anniversary.

Story 1: Your wife is completely toxic! You need to divorce her now!
@JerryLynch-yt5fg4 ай бұрын
In this story the therapist got rich. Way too much psycho babble. The wife would have just gone along with a divorce. She had all but checked out and the likelihood she had been cheating or nearly to, seems pretty evident. He on the other hand waited too long to challenge the status quo. Downward spirals of thousand cuts of pain is abuse of the spouse. Confidence that in 10 yrs they are still married is low.

This is one strange story. OPs wife friended zone him, he made 180 and worked on himself. They still in "friendzone", live like partners, did 50/50 for wat? Her needs and happiness?
@zmortis1113 ай бұрын
He's lost her respect, and she's just using him for resources. Being the doormat he is, he can't admit to himself she's been cheating on him for quite a while.

She feels that she settled for you. Now that she has a meal ticket locked, she wants to live like a 20 year carosel rider cause she "missed out". She feels you're too beta to walk.
OP should bring home a kitten, then pack up his stuff and leave. And, of course, file for divorce. If OP Is friend zoned, why should he even share a bed. He needs to get out!

They rediscovered individuality, something important in any relationship. Regardless of what point you are in life, don’t stop living for yourself. Kids are not an excuse and don’t burden/blame them for feeling trapped. I felt that way for years until i realized my mom could have left or done more for herself and instead chose not to.

Now this is what I like to see. Both husband and wife decide to work together on their issues and try to improve instead of cheating or leaving. If more married couples did this, there would be less divorces

OP has a very healthy approach to this train wreck that is his marriage. He's really taken the therapist's words seriously. The updates seem to show improvement in the wife as well, but time will tell if she stays the course toward s heathier and happier future or falls back into old, isolated and resentful habits.

That right there is the issue, you went to a therapist. They are around to make money by keeping you going to session after session. At the end of the day, look into your heart and decide for yourself if you want to be disrespected by them until they finally find someone else to move in with, or are you going to claim your dignity and offer them papers so you can have your dignity back.

I had an ex-girlfriend friendzone me, that's why she's an X. She found out that I have a super power, my own mother hated me, so I only bonded with my children. Grown Women, very slowly, or not at all. I have the😊 capacity to walk away without any drama.

The issue I have with these scenarios posed is that I struggle relating to men who still feel sentimental about their marital partners. The moment I sense someone lose respect for me, I lose empathy for them in turn. That's how I react in self-preservation. I still view the other party as human, but not as an ally if that makes sense. Either I trust you 100% to have my back and like you a lot or I don't trust you at all while you're still useful to me while deep down I don't care anymore. People feel crushed when that switch is flipped, but I don't care anymore. It doesn't sadden me because their problem was never my problem in the first place.

I so wish my BIL would have tried the 180. But he wanted so much to "save " her that he let her mistreat him. He is a first responder and it is in his nature. He is getting a really HARD lesson now when he is seeing what she really was doing to set up her getting everything in a divorce now.
@The-Man-On-The-Mountain3 ай бұрын
It's not that complicated: she feels disgusted, she loves you as a friend (doesn't love you), the relationship is done, she's gone, forever. Kicked her out and move on. Women unfall in love and there's nothing, NOTHING, that you can do about it. The more you try, the worse. It's over.
@frankconley63213 ай бұрын
Every man married or not must always be prepared to walk away. The wife must be made aware of this from the start. Women NEVER respect a man they feel they have "locked in". The vast majority of men are in a marriage for life. Too many women today get bored and resentful in 5-7 years.

@spinmaster03 ай бұрын
This 180 dynamic should not have been agreed upon. Simply because she is only seeing how bad it is out of desperation. She has to WANT to make it work and not simply because she cannot handle it on her own. If a couple is living like friends in the same house, it can NEVER work! If she is not interested in her husband, it should have been 'end of story' there and then.

You know he drove a Volvo station wagon to the therapist office while crying. Probably a small fella in more ways than one. Probably not very handsome, not in shape, ect. He must feel like he has no other options. If I were his friend I'd try getting him to cheat.
