Hi John. Do you have any good tips on how to keep raccoons away from bromeliads? Over the years I have lost so many because of raccoons. They always strip them down looking for the little slugs that live in between the leaves. I have tried the garlic repellent but it didn't work.

Bromeliads are AMAZING! Please keep in mind that, not all bromeliads are epiphytic… some are terrestrial ( needing to be in ground or medium)and some are lithophitc( rock dwellers)…just saying… 😊 …the pineapple is one that is terrestrial.

I have planted Bromeliads in full afternoon sun, it's first summer for them, I'm in Sydney. I noticed lots of sun burns on them. I'm not sure which varieties I have, but all of them have little spikes on them. Do bromeliads adapt to full Sun ? Or I should move them in partly shady place before it's too late.

Please send me pictures and/or botanical names. There are several varieties that will handle full sun. And of course, many many that will look wonderful for years in the shade with lots of color. I look forward to your response and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
