It’s time to get the Led out 🤘😎🤘
I check out some early Led Zeppelin and give you my honest thoughts and opinions on their look, sound and overall musicianship. I also talk about how much work they would’ve had to do in order to sound this great.

My favorite song from this set is How Many More Times. Check it out. Also, I think you’ll enjoy their upcoming documentary Becoming Led Zeppelin.

I saw Led Zeppelin in concert in 1969 and 1970. It was a lot like this.

I'm drooling Robert, that was a decade before I was born, would've loved to have seen it live in the flesh then, I can only imagine: magical, yeah?

Did you ever heard their live version of "How Many More Times" from Spokane, '68? You can't get better that that

I couldn't agree more, call and response draws you in, i was most used to it in African music and haven't heard it much outside of some north American blues, gospel (and probably a ton of roots music from around the world that i am unaware of) and the Zep, i feel like Page and Plant are very aware of the histories of the music that they re articulate in the 1970's

Excellent musical and melodic commentary. Refreshing to see someone with some constructive musical knowledge . The world is full of people looking for and judging artists in how close they can copy and replicate the studio version . To each their own but to me anyway that’s a very shallow mindset Page definitely used a wa-wa pedal Love the dim 7th chords around 4:00 (or implied chord fragments) Dazed and confused after hypnotized page hits the major 3 of E (G#), such a sweet note - the master of layering major and minor blues scales in the right places - usually major up and minor down as a call and response but page is not limited to that school of thought

Saw the Yardbirds live in about a 300 person capacity club in San Antonio Tx. In '67. Jeff Beck on lead guitar Jimmy Page on bass and some guitar. Awesome. I still feel Train Kept A Rollin.

Saw them nearly 50 years ago at Southampton University Old Refrectory (dining hall) - two hours of their own material and a final hour of good old rock & roll - got the professional bootleg - Any Port in a Storm - the lost soundboard tapes.

I wish you would have let them finish the song or let Jimmy do his solo at least. I've seen this before and since it's a short concert, maybe you could react to each song from this individually and give us your perspective - just a thought.

This is about five years before my sister put those 33 slabs on the little portable record player . I sat in her room and got my rock n roll baptism with Deep Purple and Zeppelin. Almost 50 years later, I am still that little kid in awe.

This was a run through of the band for Page, the beginnings of the back and forth between Page and Plant. Deliberate drops of beat here and there it's like he's testing, putting them thru the paces getting them ready. The ever changing dynamic within the live performances of this band, confrontational yet together in any moment in the bigger picture is greatness sadly lacking these days. Real music.
