Did y'all know WAY back in the day, Slab City was like this? Every winter, they would have swap meets…. Dances, Holiday parties.. just regular folk doing the Snowbird thing.. the desert in California, before they ruined the Salton Sea, was a winter destination.. Great video! I hope Joey is doing well. My dog didn't like the wind, sand, or rough ground in Quartzite. Oh my goodness! What you paid for that package! I wanted to cry for you. As a full-timer who lives out of an SUV, I'm able to live my nomad way of life because I adhere to a strict budget. An unexpected $73 dollar expense would mean that either I don't add to that month's contingency fund or I do with less food. Having said that, I, too have thought about buying that exact same oven but didn't because I lacked the space. So whoever purchased it for you knew well how difficult it is to access oven-made goodies from camp. And, oh how I love the aroma of freshly baked cookies. A very thoughtful gift, indeed, and without a doubt had no idea that you would have to pay for it, "again". Recently I purchased a hard shell rooftop carrier, so now I can have an oven. Still, there are other things that are closer to a need than a want, like a portable firepit. So, although it would be awesome to bake some goodies, the firepit will likely be my next purchase. As is the case with most nomads, I choose carefully what to add to my gear, often eliminating something old to make way for the new.

We own that oven. I'm not fond of cookies but we both love biscuits and pepper (white) gravy. We use canned biscuits (the smallest can) and it works great! (We have more space since we have a high-top cargo van.)

Dogs will always know when you are mad at them by your tone and expressions, they don't always feel guilt or associate it with a past action as they live in the present. He definitely always wants to be a good boy. He is the cutest. Glad to see him feeling better at the end.

The oven thing looks like it can be broken down and fit anywhere. Maybe just look around and see if there’s anything you haven’t bothered in the last 3 months and get rid of to make extra room for yourself. But thank you for showing me stuff that goes on in the out skirts of az. I’m from az near flagstaff and never new about these areas. Maybe when fam and I move back we’ll explore and camp out there just for the heck. Take care be safe. Those Coleman ovens are such a god send, and allow you to bake on the road. They're $50 now. I have a Vanagon, so know limited space, but the oven gets my vote to keep. I'd see if you couldn't make space for it. Get a couple of small silicon pans, toaster oven sized. Waking to one of my dogs retching is the worst! Then they get old and have incontinence issues. Not easy to deal with, but we love them, so we do. Can you have your mail service open your packages and let you know what's inside? Or perhaps use someone's address like a friend or relative, who can inspect them? I have those packing cubes and love them! It the hand warmers are USB rechargeable, they're great. You do have the Jackery to use them. So worth it when it's cold!! Mine is USB rechargeable.

If you like to bake that oven is awesome, I use mine all the time. It helps to save money because now I don't need to eat at restaurants for a change from fry pan/pot meals. Someone would really benefit from it if you re-gift it. Be well .

My little doggo has done that occasionally, too, and it always worries me because she’s generally so good about that kind of stuff. But she’s always been fine. I put it down to her just having one of those days where she didn’t think she had to go/couldn’t be bothered, and then all of a sudden it was go time. LOLOL! The clean up after those times is super frustrating, as much as we love them. Hehe.

The reason I personally love Quartzite is bc even tho I don't like big crowds.. I still don't think I could camp by myself in some of the places you do.. I have SUPER mad respect for you for that! You packed a lot into this video. So happy you let people know that shipping costs for the gifts are really a hardship. If people want to give you things, they could give you a gift certificate and mention what they wanted to buy you. Or better yet, they could just send the money to your paypal account.
