here in Canada we call those shutters California Shutters and they are very expensive. Because the blades are so big they are much easier to dust than having mini blinds. I didn't mind when bedrooms were smaller because all you do in the bedroom is sleep. I wanted the kids to be out of their rooms and enjoying the rest of the house. When considering where to put the chicken coop consider your weather conditions. If you get alot of snow don't put your coop way in the back of your lot. When you have to go out two or three times a day to give them food and water and it is cold you don't want to have to shovel long paths. I bought birds from Murray McMurray Hatcheries in the USA to get "pretty" birds. If I had chickens I wanted one's that made me smile when I saw them in the yard. Love your home, boxes and all. May you have many happy years in this new home.

Seriously what a beautiful home. It's a wonderful forever home for the kids to make their memories and always want to return here inbetween life changes!! You bought it just in time for those memories to happen. Right before the kids are too old to get the feeling of this being their forever home! You could even build an apartment in the back outbuilding for them when they need a place to stay for awhile. OR.... even just a really nice rental income!!! (That would sure help out with that mortgage OR at minimum, pay your taxes!!) Congratulations on the new Camp David! It's truly GORGEOUS!!!

Ok Jill This is what I was thinking What about veggie beds fill in with good soil Not saying first year but plans to least cover 70% of all your fresh veggies/herbs come from your garden That would save more then a few dozen chickens would do Plus the mess and noise from the chickens might not be a great neighborhood treat lol What would i rather have fresh eggs or fresh veggies and even some fruit You can give to your neighbors and friends Pretty wicker baskets of fresh veggies and herbs I would also do some fresh flowers Always have fresh flowers in the house what a treat Do some bottoms and larkspur peonys and dry them in one of those sheds You can make swags centerpieces

You need to make that second out building a place for guests to sleep and shower etc and keep a kitchenette in there too! You could even build a loft in there to make more floor space. Maybe make a super small bedroom on the first floor so there’s a space that can be separated, a small kitchenette, add a shower/tub, add the loft space where you can put all the bunks so it’s not taking up all that floor space for games and couches and soda counter etc. You could do sooooo much!

You did good with finding this home with so much exciting things that can be done to make it your own. My favorite part would have to be that wrap around porch, the grounds and the out building that has so much potential to do something fun with. Just a couple things to consider...I worked for an electrical contractor and let me says its expensive if you move a hot tub and second you guys have guests quite a bit and I hope you plan on having room for your guests so you don't have to move things around when they show up
