fantastic rebuild! The most mirror shine finish I've ever seen, looks like you almost polished all the way through LOL. Great exterior access hatch and marine coat in the bathroom. Enjoy the fruits of your hard labors!

These old Airstreams make GREAT stationary homes. The quality components will last and last if you just take a little care. The height and interior space are easy to take care of and very comfy. The air and heat components are top notch. We all have too much junk. Trim down, simplify. It doesn’t take a Japanese guru to show you how to get by with less. If you haven’t used it in six months, it’s utility is suspect. If you haven’t used it in a year it should go. Go forth and be free

Next time, in the bathroom, switch the location of the sink and toilet so it's sink you see first thing through the doorway, not the toilet. I like that you were able to figure out how to add some exterior storage to your Airstream. Nice tow vehicle too.

Great job did you paint insider with roller or spray gun? Also what kind paint is used inside so it sticks to the aluminum

Hey, used a roller and we just use regular household paint. The interior skins have a vinyl layer on them and so we painted over that with Behr Paint & Primer.

From what year to what year are the ones you can polish?

You can polish any year Airstream as long as its Aluminum. The new fiberglass one you can not polish, well not metal polish anyway. Airstream started using a clear coat in 1964 so that is when the satin appearance started. If the clear coat is not properly maintained every year they start to degrade due to UV. And its cheaper to strip and polish than it is to strip clean and reclear coat. I think it's something like $3-5k to clear coat depending on trailer size.
