I agree, cause when you try to buy it with real money it’s like ten dollars in CAD just to buy one of them. Instead I went for the all tower bundle which was much more worth it.

The teleport tower ability is just absurdly broken, like the amount of possibilties it opens up is INSANE, also the fact that this makes the final boss a literal joke when otherwise it would be one of the hardest in the series period

I never bothered to check the Grim Wraiths as it was the last tower to unlock and I was like "I need to finish now" and I did beat Overseer without them, but it was way more tedious...

I didn’t realise grim wraiths could swap positions with towers. I still beat the final boss easily, you just keep building more eldritch channellers. Might be harder than the original kingdom rush and origins, but the overseer doesn’t have shit on Umbra.

Fun fact: you can instantly refresh this tower and any barracks tower by swapping positions with it.

It's me, I'm the weirdo whose favourite tower is this. They deal very high amounts of true damage, especially with Emissary/Wizard/Paladin buffs. Paladins have 198HP, and are 3, Wraiths are only 2 and have 110 HP, both with medium armor. But Paladins respawn every 10s, and Wraiths every 6s, which is the same duration as their Dread curse. They can take any one or two large enemies, and when one Wraith dies, it helps the other one survive by halving the enemy's damage, before it very quickly resurrects to fight again. Or just shred through waves of small enemies cause the dmg buff remains from enemy to enemy And to also talk about the teleport ability, it saves you money. Instead of buying 2 expensive but no upgrades artilleries, you can get only one, get it's upgrades, and move it around depending on the wave. You can decide which lane gets your Arcane Wizard 40% buff for that wave etc.

One thing, not discussing effectiveness, that i really like about this tower is how it's introduced right before the last stage with the Overseer fight, where one of the boss' move is to swap places of towers around, so essentially this tower becomes super useful to use to reposition your line up. It has a great ability, but rather hard to use effectively and is actually pretty niche, yet becomes an ultimate hack move in that one last fight 😂 (kinda feels like playing plants vs zombies lol)

The base tower deals true damage, which is apart of why they deal so much damage.

I'm a bit sad we didn't get a Dark Army equivalent of the Paladins, was hoping for it cuz I like to play either all Linirean or Dark Army towers and heroes. But I think imma have to settle with these guys

i always build a level 1 of them and keep them incase i need to stall leaking enemies or swap towers but oh boy the price is nuts

I more think they are kind of glass canon like but the concept of dying and dealing damage is great

Nah, they are easily among the best. Tested one of them against a bear vanguard on impossible 1v1 and he won. Their armor makes them live very long, they deal true damge which eviscerates armoured enemies, and if u take their extra damage buff and the arcane wizard's damage buff + 2 dark hero damage buff they melt through enemies. 2 of them together like that destroy a bear vanguard just like that, and in case they get killed, which doesn't happen a lot until later levels, the other upgrade does very good damage. They make earlier levels a pushover, since the only enemy that outdoes them 1v1 on those stages is the Razing Rhino, even then just one pair does very well against them if they have the damage on death upgrade, also they respawn in only 6 seconds.
